My pleasure. Your writing is all fairly uniformedly pleasing to read and, in some cases, reminds me of my own.

I wish I had more to say but I don't. I enjoy your writings, some more than others. You have a way with words. Just don't stop. Keep writing, practicing, etc etc... Be well.

I'd be interested to see what all those lovely songs you wrote sounded like when put to music. Do you have any?

Also, thanks for the kind words regarding the lyrics. They will be overhauled when I record as it's sort of difficult to pull the singing parts from the chords I'm playing while playing. But it's something that consumes my day to day activities and when I'm not sitting around writing them, I'm daydreaming about this fictitious plot and the characters involved (which I've grown an ardent affection for as much or more than anyone I know in life). I will certainly make a point to let you know when I have anything recorded of substantial worth. Until then...

I have 11 written and demoed (one of them is an instrumental part 2 or "A Miner's Descent". The demos are mainly just me playing the songs in Windows Media Sound Recorder moments after writing them so that my best friend in Louisiana can hear and critique them. Because they are so rapidly written and then demoed, the demos are sort of inherently flawed and even horrible sounding in most cases; I fuck up the lyrics and singing a lot, etc... I'm going to stop this cycle of songs at 13 and move onto another premise. The next one is going to be a cycle of 6 or so songs written to my mother about various things that she suffered with or without or through me. I have around 4 separate themes for that already set out and even a few choruses. I will hopefully begin recording the final versions of all 18 by the end of the month. It will be a month (or longer) long process though. I hope to be done by the end of the year with those two cycles. I'm going to be doing guitars/piano/cello/drums/vocals by myself. Then my old roommate is going to sing backup on a lot of the songs. Then I'm going to take a train to RI and record violin for all the songs with an old friend. Then I'm going to try and find someone who will be down with doing trumpet for two of the songs on the first cycle of songs but that is way way up in the air. From time to time, I put demos on [link] for my friend. You are welcome to listen to them but refrain from passing judgment too soon for the aforementioned reasons.

Sounds really cool. And involved. I think the lyrics would carry the song anyways, they;re so strong. And I will check those out.

Thanks,

Maggie
