# About me
♥~ About Me:I am a very busy wife & mother of 2 beautiful girls and a handsome baby boy.
I appreciate all the faves, comments, llamas & watch. I may not get to respond to your comments etc. right away but I do read them all and I appreciate the time you take to do so.
♥~ About my work:
I am always striving to improve my painting technique and my goal is to make every piece of art better than the last.
At the time that each of my dolls were created, I believed them to be the best piece of work I could put out there for people's consideration and comments. Every single doll I've created is very special to me.
I pride myself in using only high quality products to create all my dolls.
I have been repainting for a little over 8 years now.
I strive to create dolls that not only look good in pictures but in person as well. No matter how popular any of my dolls may be, my work is never duplicated & each doll is created with their own unique look & personality, giving you a true “One Of A Kind” creation to cherish for years to come.
♥~ All my work is done in artist's grade acrylics such as Golden Fluid & Liquitex Soft Body,
Sennelier pastels, Prismacolors, Darwent Inktense and FaberCastell Albrecth Durer watercolors.
All dolls are sealed before painting as a base for my work.
I seal my work several times in between layers of paint, it's a time and resource consuming process that ensures better quality of my work. I use only the best quality sealers with UVL's to protect worked on surfaces from the environment, yellowing and time.
(I cannot stress enough the importance of layering and I know for a fact that other well known artists have stressed the same
in their tutorials. Good results take time and patience, layering is a huge part of it.)
♥~ All my work is hand-painted & done free hand. I do not use glass eyes, stencils or dotting tools. I only make this statement because I often get asked if I use "glass eyes" or if I use nail dotting tools or something else.
♥~ Dolls eyes are sealed with a non yellowing epoxy for resin dolls for a super high shine "glass eye" look or left matte depending on the doll.
♥~ Breast enhancement means that a polymer clay nipple was added to the dolls breasts. This feature does not come standard with every doll, just some.
♥~ Anatomically correct means that the dolls factory underwear has been sanded down & enhanced to resemble a woman's body.
♥~ All doll pictures are taken in sunlight. I don't have a professional camera nor am I a professional photographer. The intensity of the color, focus etc. in pictures change depending on the day, angle, distance, shadows or direct light when doing photo-shoot & depending on the angle of the doll.
~♥ Commissions:
Commissions are reserved for established customers.
What is an established customer..? Someone who's purchased a for sale doll directly from my Etsy shop or eBay account.
From time to time, I will list a commission spot on my Etsy shop for new and established customers alike.
~♥ Tutorials:
Though I am flattered by people's interest for me to do tutorials on repainting, I simply do not have the time.
There are many wonderful tutorials out there for free. The best tutorial that I personally used before I started offering them for sale was from Laurie Leigh of "Beautiful Faces", you can find those on eBay. With that said, you can't really learn someone else's technique or form. Watching a tutorial by any artist will not magically make you as good as they are. Repainting takes a lot of time, practice, patience, money and above all, passion. If you succeed & your work is good enough to sell, it will not earn you enough money to buy your dream car or support your family unless you're "Noel Cruz", lol, but a little extra pocket money never hurt anyone & it's certainly helped out our little family. Anyway, if you learn the basics about repainting you've pretty much learned everything & it is up to you to improve on it. I am always happy to answer questions about materials I use, but most of that information is already posted here. Respectfully, Rogue ♥
Misc. Info: The name is ♥Rogue♥ not "Rouge" There is a huge difference in the meaning of each of the names & I've noticed that most people that play WoW always get it wrong in the game and in real life.
Rogue: "A mischievous person" While there are other very bad meanings for the name, this one is my favorite.
Rouge: "A red powder or cream used as a cosmetic for coloring the cheeks or lips"

Hello, sorry for the late reply & thank you so much for your note.
I don't do males because I am just not comfortable with them yet. I can't seem to make them manly enough, lol.
Thanks for the support. ♥

I am pretty sure I told you how much I love your dolls. They just blow my mind! But I have some questions.
- How do you change their hair when you change it?
- Do you sew all of your dolls clothes?
- On average, how long does it take you to complete a doll?
- How much money do you typically spend on dolls and supplies?
I hope I'm not bothering you, but I'm really curious.

RogueLively In reply to NoodleSama23 [2014-06-02 10:20:54 +0000 UTC]
Thank you, well it really depends on the doll.
As far as changing the hair, I just give them wigs or restyle the original hair. I wash it if it needs to be washed or boil straighten it or curl it.
I don't sew all of the doll clothes, only some. I buy most of things for my dolls & I combine original outfits or re-customize them. Prices vary.
As far as repainting a doll, it can take anywhere from 4 to 8 hours, depending on the doll, custom clothes or shoes made by me, etc. You also have to add in about 2 hours for photo shoot, (going through pictures, adding logos, formatting and putting together for an auction or sale, creating COA, etc.) and shipping.
Initially & over time if you buy quality supplies you will spend a lot, but almost everything lasts quite a bit except for Sealer, Gloss epoxy sealer & brushes.
Cost of a doll varies depending on what you're buying. I buy all my dolls brand new, some I pay regular price for & the hard to find one's I pay a little extra for.
Take into account that good wigs run about 16 to 22 dollars, an outfit or handmade items on the doll anywhere from 4.00 to 20.00
So, starting out, you can usually have about 18 to 60 dollars or more invested in one doll, easily. Not counting painting supplies & materials. Hope that helps

Thank you so much for the information!
I remember you saying you aren't doing commissions right now, but I was wondering about something. You see, I have an idea for a Monster High-esqe doll. I imagine it wouldn't be hard for you to repaint it, but I was wondering how difficult it would be for you to make a calico werecat? It would probably be a Toralei base, but I'm not sure what you would/could do to make it calico...
Just wondering! I hope I'm not bothering you.

You're not bothering me. About your question, I really don't know, as I am not really a cat person so I don't even know what a calico is.
But again, I don't do commissions. Thanks ♥
