Hello! This is Dr-Margaret.

I just wanted to tell you that I'm gonna use a new DeviantART account from now on (RetroDame) and won't be using the old one anymore, so you may remove my old account from your watch list and add this new one. I'll be posting new artwork to it.

I hope that we could be DeviantART friends again!

Row-da-boat In reply to Omardxb [2006-05-15 17:02:34 +0000 UTC]

I'm good thanks. Got exams coming up, but hopefully they'll be fine.

Well, football wise, feeling deprived, but luckily there's all the build up to the WC, and that still to come. T'was worse last year with no kind of competition between FA cup final and mid August. I'm probably gonna start on all my football DVD's soon, but now I'm just playing fifa 2006. No consolation from the real thing though...the build up each week, the expectancy, the looking forward to the match on Saturday, the banter afterwards, the feel good factor from seeing my team play, and the feeling of belonging. Waiting for each game, hoping that one more win will take us closer to the title. No matter who you support you have that in common (mostly) which is why I have more in common with a 'Pool fan than someone who don't like football!!

But yeah, reminiscing over, feeling more deprived of what I love, I'll just try to get Bournemouth up into the prem in career mode in Fifa '06!

How about you?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Omardxb In reply to Row-da-boat [2006-05-15 18:36:56 +0000 UTC]

Same more or less, got a busy patch coming up unfortunately as well...

God, that was the perfect textbook description for what every football fans goes through during the season, add to that for the fans lucky enough to have their teams playing in Europe, the expectations, build-up and the excitment before the midweek games in Europe. Football is an amazing thing, unites everyone who follows and loves it in some way or another

Funny thing though is that I am not THAT excited yet about the world cup, maybe it's because I know England will embarass themselves again and that the Arab teams will be trashed, I don't know... But I hope it's a good world cup and I hope somehow Sven finally gets it right and make England set the world alight...*dream on Omar, dream on*

Good luck with doing that!

Lol, thankyou, football=greatness.

Yeah, I'm not thinking, "wow, world cup!" More, hmm, theres no more football on, I need SOMETHING to watch! But yeah, I'll dream on too for a bit. You never know.

Hehe, so far Bournemouth have beaten Liverpool, Arsenal AND United, in a brillinat run of form in the Calring Cup!!

What an amazinf fluky run!

Thoughts on Arsenal?

Row-da-boat In reply to Omardxb [2006-05-18 10:05:55 +0000 UTC]

Lol, that sounds about right.

Fluky? Pure skill!

I think they were unlucky, and the reffing was slightly biased, and maybe E'eto was offside, but Barca are a decent team to win it. I feel kinda sorry for Arsenal...

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Omardxb In reply to Row-da-boat [2006-05-18 10:10:04 +0000 UTC]

Refs was messed up, what do you expect from a bunch of Norwegians? (Joking, no offence intended towards any Norwegians )

Both teams deserved to win it but the game had any order/cohesion in it after Lehmann was sent off, Arsenal's midfield lost shape with the forced withdrawal of Pires and they had to be put on the back foot for the rest of the match. Henry tried everything but unfortunately his finishing wasn't as good as it is usually, but heck, he assisted Arsenal's only goal (Although it is argued that it was a dive)

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Row-da-boat In reply to Omardxb [2006-05-18 12:37:49 +0000 UTC]

Lol, yeah.

It was kinda a dive, but still. Dyou reckon that if they'd played advantage and left Lehman on they could have won it?

I reckon the FA cup shoulda been shared an alll!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Omardxb In reply to Row-da-boat [2006-05-18 13:13:01 +0000 UTC]

That would've been likely, Lehmann's sending off meant almost automatically that Arsenal will sit back and try to snatch a goal and hold on to it, and that is exactly what happened... The sending off took all the excitment out of it in my opinion... Last year in the semi between us and Chelsea when Luis Garcia scored after a similar tackle bt Cech on Baros the ref either had to send off Cech and give us a penalty OR let the goal (assuming the ball crossed the line!) stand, it was more or less the same situation yesterday...

LOL... Too bad that cups can't be shared or divided in parts, otherwise you lot would've had 95% of the FA Cup and Arsenal would've had the handle or something since they didn't create any clear chances, complete contrast to you!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Row-da-boat In reply to Omardxb [2006-05-18 13:25:15 +0000 UTC]

Lol, yeah, just give Arsenal the handle, I like that.

But yeah, letting the goal stand would have been better, 'cos before Lehman got sent off Arsenal were the much better side, and were playing reallly good attacking football. If things had carried on that way then Arsenal could probably have got back 2 goals, and possibly gone onto win it.

They used to share cups, esp. the charity shield. Dunno if they did in Europe or FA but they should.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Omardxb In reply to Row-da-boat [2006-05-18 19:40:26 +0000 UTC]

Well the referee wanted to make sure that the final is not only remembered for what the two teams did, he wants people to remember his great decisions! His decisions made the game lose its beauty IMO

Cup sharing... Doesn't it sound kinda lame?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Row-da-boat In reply to Omardxb [2006-05-19 14:26:51 +0000 UTC]

He did, but afterwards he said he wished he'd let the goal stand.

Well, kinda, but in situations like the FA cup final, I don't think there'd be any complaints...(cept by a few Hammers who would feel cheated by a fluky Gerrard shot. )

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Omardxb In reply to Row-da-boat [2006-05-20 00:36:06 +0000 UTC]

He did indeed, he said that he should've waited for a few seconds before blowing the whistle... Well, he's not even going to be at the World Cup so it's quite surprising to see someone officiating such a huge game like this who won't be at the world cup, hope you get my point

What about Bayern Munich? Don't you think they deserve a share in the 1999 CL trophy?

p.s. same goes for AC Milan last year

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Row-da-boat In reply to Omardxb [2006-05-20 15:38:03 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, interesting point!

Hmm, well, seeing as how we actually won the game in normal time, I think that a trophy for United is about right!!

But last year, well, I don't think cups should be decided on penalties, so a draw sounds about right to me. Cup sharing time!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Omardxb In reply to Row-da-boat [2006-05-20 17:39:02 +0000 UTC]

Cup sharing is for the old times when players wages were ridiculously low (50 pounds a week?) and terms such as sponsorship and tv rights were non-existent, now the so-called Champions get all the glory and the extra money as the clubs have become much more than just a number of blokes (or chicks ) kicking the ball around!

It's not a matter of life and death, it is far more important than that

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Row-da-boat In reply to Omardxb [2006-05-24 12:55:41 +0000 UTC]

Lol, football should just be about PEOPLE () kicking the ball around!! Not the money. But then we've had this debate. I still think that cup sharing would be fair in the case of a draw. You can't settle a cup by penalties! But anyway, yeah.

Lol, Bill Shankly eh? Well, he may have been at Liverpool, but he had some good Shanklisms, and he knows what he's talking about when it comes to football.

Btw, I definitely agree it's more important than that!!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Omardxb In reply to Row-da-boat [2006-05-25 15:34:21 +0000 UTC]

I wonder what would the two teams that reach the final and draw be called, co-champions?!

Yup, another Shanks quote

Row-da-boat In reply to Omardxb [2006-05-25 15:49:19 +0000 UTC]

Tough luck Row... What made things even worse for you and England fans like me is that Rooney is seriously injured

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Row-da-boat In reply to Omardxb [2006-05-01 16:00:04 +0000 UTC]

Cheers for the comment. Yeah, I mean, there's a chance he could make it, but then, there's no guarantee how well he'd play, and at the end of the day it's more of a shame for Wayne than anyone else. He's twenty, and he has the chance to play in the biggest competition in football, knowing he can do well, and 6 weeks before the competition starts, he gets injured. He must be gutted. I just hope he gets back to playing football again when he's ready.

As for United, there's always next season, and we'll be back and ready to challenge Chelski better than before. As will Liverpool. So thank you, I appreciate it.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Omardxb In reply to Row-da-boat [2006-05-03 00:41:03 +0000 UTC]

Knowing Sven he will probably pick him anyway because everyone knows that an off-form Rooney can still inspire England more than a fit and on-form Beckham for instance... It's really bad for Rooney, I can imagine his disappointed he was when he knew the extent of the injury...

I hate to say this but in my humble opinion I think that he shouldn't be risked/rushed at all, it might do more damage to Rooney, anyway, we'll see...

Next season should be even more competitve, at least this season Chelsea weren't run-away champions in the end, they had the chance to finish off with a huge gap but they messed up and both us and you lot stayed behind, if not close enough to cause a serious threat but it remains way better than last season

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Row-da-boat In reply to Omardxb [2006-05-03 16:27:16 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, he will take him, because just being there he will give the team a lift. Very easy to see him being England captain someday...

Yeah, I see that, which is why I'm glad it's Fergie that's going to be involved, because he will do what is right for Wayne, and at this stage he should recover properly, so he doesn't relapse or anything and cause any long term problems. Even if he just sits on the bench watching it'll be ok...

Yeah, much better, and Rovers beat them yesterday! They'll say that it doesn't matter now they've won, but champions should always want to play to win, and just because there's no reason they don't have to sit back and defend. (That's the difference between them and say, United and Arsenal...) Liverpool have improved massively this season as well. (Unfortunately but it makes it more interesting! )

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Omardxb In reply to Row-da-boat [2006-05-05 05:11:37 +0000 UTC]

Well Sven is probably crazy, saying that he would take Rooney even if he was only to play the final, he seriously thinks that England can make it to the final? It was hard enough WITH Rooney, can't see it happening really, England will struggle as usual, hoofing the ball upfront to Owen and whoever is eventually patnering him... We'll see... Guess Brazil will win it this time around as well...

True... But I am not sure but haven't Man U. done that (Slacked off) after winning the title? Anyway it doesn't really matter, if it was my team which has just won the league title I wouldn't worry a lot about the games to come unless they were derbies or big games if you know what I mean

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Row-da-boat In reply to Omardxb [2006-05-05 17:54:35 +0000 UTC]

Lol, probably send it up to Crouch to head it on to whoever, the great striker that he is but yeah, we don't really have much chance, but watching is good anyway.

Well, winning the league 3 times in a row can't have allowed much slacking, and as far as I can remember the year they had it won by beginning of April they carried on winning, but maybe a few times... (I'm just trying to think positive and console myself!) See I would think about what 'Pool have done, but it was so long ago that they last won the title that it's hard to remember really!! The day they do they probably won't have to worry about that really, as it would only be a nick on the last day of the season!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Omardxb In reply to Row-da-boat [2006-05-05 23:49:49 +0000 UTC]

Well not much has changed from the previous tourneys apart from the fact that instead of having useless Heskey or Wayne -I carry the team- Rooney we'll have a beanpole! Crouch is decent but he won't really do something exceptional for England...

Hehe, well, someday we'll shut all of you man u. fans up!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Row-da-boat In reply to Omardxb [2006-05-06 21:02:00 +0000 UTC]

Lol, yeah, but I'd rather have Wayne carrying the team than Crouch! The trouble with beanpoles is they are very likely to bend and snap under pressure!

Well, I can't really see that happening meself, it would take quite a lot to shut me up! By the time you win the league again we'll have caught your 18 league titles, and raised it by about 5 FA cups, and adding 8 prem titles into it!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Omardxb In reply to Row-da-boat [2006-05-07 08:48:38 +0000 UTC]

Enough Crouch bashing... His -limited- abilities are known to everyone

Hehe... Dream on, neither us or you lot will have a chance as long as Roman is still around at West London

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Row-da-boat In reply to Omardxb [2006-05-08 18:10:38 +0000 UTC]

Lol, he'll have his chance to prove himself upfront this summer with Theo Walcott...Interesting team selection there from Mr Eriksson...Why the hell isn't SWP playing? Or Darren Bent? A 17 yr old kid who's never played in the prem, against the top English striker, and third only to Ruud and Thierry? Is Sven thinking of switching back to Sweden or something? Or is that too harsh?

Lol, I will dream, but hey, back to back losses, much closer to them than before, a couple of summer signings, who knows??!!

But that's enough about us, no chance for you lot!!

It's all good in a way! We are the best English team in history while you ruled the Premiership for a decade

Anyway, rivarly is good!

Do you go to any footie forums?

Row-da-boat In reply to Omardxb [2006-03-11 15:49:45 +0000 UTC]

Well it is all good in the fact that you like football in the first place. That's a start!

Hmm, I suppose I have to concede that historically you are the most decorated English team...but recently we've taken over.

Definitely, I think rivalry is good and makes football so much more interesting. As does friendly banter between teams!

Erm, I go on the United message board, and sometimes BBC, but not many others. A lot of people on there don't seem to know what they're talking bout- load of numpties!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Omardxb In reply to Row-da-boat [2006-03-12 04:42:38 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, good start lol.!

It's true, but now Chelski are taking over, but I am sure that in 30 years people will still remember the great Liverpool, Man Utd and Arsenal sides who won the league by relying determination and skills rather than $$$ like Chelsea... It's like Blackburn in 1995!

Rivarly and banter are great!

I go on these forums [link]
Don't know if we're allowed to post links to other online communities here, but anyway, hope you like it

BTW great pic from IstanPOOL where we won the CL final

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Row-da-boat In reply to Omardxb [2006-03-12 15:48:19 +0000 UTC]

Yeah. Chelski will just be remembered for their money spending, whereas the 'invincibles,' 70's and 80's domination, and United's attack will always be remembered. Although actually, so far, all the money has bought is 1 (maybe 2) prem titles! Nought else, not much to remember!

Ooh, that forum looks good, thanks!

Hey, I favourited that for its photographic qualities, not its historical insignificance!

Lol, I forgot about that! Well, 1 league and 1 carling cup! That was worth billions...We got it with a supposedly shaky midfield! (Not that Gerrard stops other teams scoring goals. He helps them! )

Hmm, good excuse, it's true! Otherwise I would have favourited lots of photos of Barcelona! And the amazing Camp Nou!
