You make some pretty awesome stuff man. What scale do you usually sculpt in? I usually work with 32mm scale, but I'm still a novice so they're not that good. I've made a Halo 4 elite and other models but I don't have a good pic of them to put up(crappy camera blurs them). I'm looking forward to seeing more stuff from you.

Hi there! I was at Otakon 2012 and am now catching up on following/watching everyone I snagged a business card from, due to my own laziness and lack of internet. Anyway, I'm posting to inquire about an Axel (from Kingdom Hearts 2) necklace.
I was unable to buy it at the time because of the lack of money, and then Sunday somebody bought it before I could :/
I'M RANTING, BUT ANYWAY...I wanted to ask about how I could come to acquire one of those?

RowlandCooney In reply to Kaianmarie [2012-09-19 18:18:36 +0000 UTC]

Hi,

Sorr for the late reply, it has been a like riding a roller coaster here. A very bumpy, unpleasent, nightmarish roller coaster....

Anyway, all you would have to do is place an order with me and I would sculpt you an Axel necklace and mail it off.

Hope to hear from you soon,

Rowland Cooney

Forgive all the spelling and gramatical mistakes in my previous replay.

Apparently all the bumps from the coaster have impacted my ability to type.....

That's okay, I understand completely and I wish only the best for your Grandfather.
How would I go about placing an order? Do you have a formal thing or do I just tell you I want one? x3

Hey I didn't get to say this, but I can't tell you how much I appreciated your work in doing my Wedding Cake Topper with my fiance's and my FFXI characters! It is GORGEOUS and AMAZING with all the details and poses in place! I plan to post up photos on my DA and submit them to FFXI art communities while giving credit to you if that is ok.

To the people down below who have complained: Yes, like all commissions it takes time. I was a bit nervous too at first because I've had good and bad experiences with art and cosplay commissions before. My commission took awhile based on labor and this artist having another full-time job on the side, but it was worth the wait. I have never seen a commissioner put so much effort into the details. My finished product went above and beyond my expectations. I ordered my commissions in advance for reasons like this because mine took a lot of work (my wedding is next year). I am very please with this product and I plan to order from you in the near future

RowlandCooney In reply to Akkardo [2011-07-29 19:28:01 +0000 UTC]

Hello,

I am sorry about the delay in getting the figures to you. I had 210 commissions this year, so the list was particularly lengthy. The details are in a previous journal entry if your are interested. I have about ten more commissions, so if you can wait for it to be completed, it should be done shortly. Please send me a note about whether you would like to wait or receive a refund. I am very sorry. What I do takes a very long time and apologize if that was miscommunicated at the table.

Thank you for your patience,

Rowland

I thought I responded to this post, but I guess the computer ate it o.o

I use a high-quality super-sculpy for most of my work

hahaha, weird XD
okays, cool
i've been meaning to try super sculpey, is the quality really that much better than regular sculpey?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

RowlandCooney In reply to kamenkewl [2011-07-29 20:29:56 +0000 UTC]

I think so, but it's kind of a matter of opinion Use whatever works best with you. I use it because I can do more with it, but someone else might have a totally different experience.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

kamenkewl In reply to RowlandCooney [2011-07-29 20:32:30 +0000 UTC]

i might give it a shot if i ever see it on sale, haha. right now the problem i have with regular sculpty is it tends to be too fragile...i make a lot of small pieces like you, just stuff thats meant to be worn, and they really wear down after a while...

RowlandCooney In reply to PanDoraSeraphim [2011-07-21 00:10:29 +0000 UTC]

I am very sorry about the delay. Things have been insane here, and I have not been able to access my deviantart or e-mail accounts. I will be posting details shortly in a blog post. I am still working through my list of commissions, which was much longer than that of last year. If all goes according to plan, your panda should be complete by early next week and shipped shortly after. Please forgive me for the delay, and thank you so much for your patience!

No problem. I'm glad you liked it so much! Fortunately, I have figured out a way to cut back commissions, so with any luck, no one will be waiting that long anymore. Thank you!

I'm glad you enjoyed them so much and thanks for the compliments!

Yes all my figures are made with either Two Part Epoxy Putty or Polymer Clay.

HeyLookASign In reply to RowlandCooney [2010-04-10 16:32:32 +0000 UTC]

I'm not familair with Two Part Epoxy Putty...details?

And yeah I too like making stuff with Polymer

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

RowlandCooney In reply to HeyLookASign [2010-04-12 13:27:13 +0000 UTC]

Two Part Epoxy Putty is one part resin and one part hardener. You simply cut off what you need from the yellow and blue strips, then knead it together until it is a single green color.

After that the putty becomes something akin to chewed up bubblegum lol. It sticks to anything and you have to constantly keep it, your hands and tools wet so that it doesn't stick.

It has around a two hour working time before air drying into a plastic. Very durable, much more so than polymer, but also very difficult to use.
