This is how I see it. The Mom and Dad show up at the end of a chapter, and it will take one or two chapters for their stay. They'll be very uncomfortable with what's going on, especially the marriage plan. Each girl will try something to win them over, each making things worse.

Darling caught between this will start getting mad at his parents, who will then try to force him to stop being involved with the girls. This will be the last straw, and it will end in an argument. Then something happens (parents or Darling get in trouble), and the girls help save the day.

The parents though reluctant, are finally okay with him being with the girls and decide to cheer him on from now. Maybe adding in their thoughts on who he should pick.

I have no clue what each would try at first to get approval, but we can be sure it'll be interesting.
