Sure
Emoticons can be found down the right hand side of the main page, under the shout box, under the deviant thoughts box where you enter your comments, called Emoticon Legend, and also in the shout box as a button, located at the bottom right labelled (Emoticons).
When looking at the list you will see various images of the emotes and a word next to them, this is the word you need to enter, anywhere on DeviantART to display the emote.
Eg- type this...
: lol : (without the spaces)
In Chat rooms you will see them at the up right
