Oh, thanks very much! I was a bit concerned when I started working on mine, that people wouldn't find it relate-able as its meant to be a realistic tragedy, and not some happy sappy outright condemnation of fur farms, where the animals escape and live happily ever after, so this is good to hear  Drawing minks is super fun, though. Its the writing part that's killing me XD

I'm equally honored, I'm sure, your art is lovely! Your piece, When Bolt Holes Become Gaping Mouths, reminded me of the art you see on book covers like Watership Down, Tailchaser's Song, The Kine Saga (also a story about mustelids, weasels mostly I believe) and the like, those old classic animal books. And your grasp of lighting and color is inspiring. I look forward to seeing more of your work

I'm doing the same thing with stoats (more or less), and it's like a rollercoaster ride from doubt to belief repeating itself over and over.
Some will like it, being for the realism, the honesty, the characters, the flow or something else. I'd be willing to give it a go, for all the reasons mentioned. What keeps me going is how the facts excite me and the idea of the characters starring in a story of their own. 
I can relate to the ''sappy'' aspect. At this point things are rather grim, as they often are in nature, but I hope to find a few lighter moments to balance it with. Something positive, like, if the characters have some values or whatever keeps them going. 

That piece turned out to be something special, and it inspires me to keep a high standard. I'm positively surprised that so many people liked it as much as I do! I've only recently discovered the magic of how colour and lighting works, so I'm glad it shows and even more happy that it's inspiring to others. 
Your praise means a lot to me in that regard; I have read most of those books, by the way- they were gifts, or I bought them myself. They give me an idea of where to go, what has been written before, and what to avoid. The covers are often stunning and detailed and are reminiscent of an epic movie done in the style of fine art paintings.

You know, I don't really have a specific character anymore o.O Once upon a blue moon ago I used a reddish wolfbeast that this account was named for, but I haven't drawn her in years, I kind of forgot she existed Most of the characters I have now are just characters in the book I'm working on
