Simple: it brings the people I don't want around closer to me. Every year we go to my uncle's so we can celebrate with his family. This mostly consists of chain smoking aunts,drunk grandfathers, and ill behaved little kids screaming and punching everyone. Also why do we even celebrate this horrid day? We're celebrating Europeans invading American and killing and raping the natives. Although, nobody cares, all they care about is the football game and stuffing their face with food it seems.

Ah, well I can understand why you'd not enjoy time with family that smokes and drinks and overly rambunctious kids. Personally, I don't believe the whole killing/raping thing, but that's me.
I myself don't care for sports, but who doesn't like good food? XD

Maybe you could spend your time with other friends instead.

Yeah, its stressful and why I dread that holiday. Ok, everyone has their own beliefs. I don't care for sports either. The food is the only good thing about that day in my opinion ^^

I always wanted to but my family is forcing me to go -_-
plus my friends probably have their own thanksgiving things
