It's an OVA series from the 90's with a strong D&D theme. Dragons, elves, magic and such. I really enjoyed it.

I know what type of sword a falchion is, and what they look like, but I don't know of any one that is referred to as the sword of light.

Look it up, it is the sword that Marth uses for the early FE games. (it does not look like your average falchion)

It's interesting. I see about three different versions of it. One looks like the Sword of Omens a bit. But I kind of like the one that doesn't have a crosspiece best.

Which ever you like best. I personally like the older one more than then newer version. Just personally, they newer one without the crosspiece is the one from the newest game. Fire Emblem Awakening is it's name.
