Home to the Legendary OBM Lieutenant General Brewster
Old Burchard Manor, previously known as Once In A Blue Moon Stables, sits on 500 sprawling green acres full of rolling fields. It underwent a name change after the death of the estate butler, William E. Burchard, in 2013. In his honor, the grounds appearance, name, and theme were changed.
There are 2 stables with 100 total stalls and dozens of open pastures and natural trails to explore. Our facilities combine vintage ideals to new age techniques and aid us in creating the best horses for our, or your, needs. Our trainers and staff live for the horses, and have been raising the best ever in the state of Illinois since December of 2012. Old Burchard Manor is also a registered fox hunting stable, with yearly drag and live hunts.
Old Burchard Manor focuses on working, pleasure, and hunting horses of various breeds. It's dedicated to bringing the sophisticated society and mannerisms of the Edwardian Era to the present and therefore function is more important than breed in some aspects. Our Edwardian theme is also what separates us from the rest, making a visit to our grounds one to remember.
