I would have to agree. the 2011 version is stellar as far as visuals go.82 had the suspense and great acting.

Aye and the newer Thing (as in the creature) kinda struck me as...primal, and lacking in cunning that the first one did, thought if the take in to account that the newer movie is a prequel, this is the creatures firs encounter with humans so it probably didn't have any real experience to base its behaviour and tactics on, unlike in the John Carpenter version.
