Thank you very much for your very warm words, I appreciate it very much!
For a beginner, I'd say you're doing quite well! The art of paper-cutting has simple roots and humble beginnings. Where to take the craft really depends on each artist's imagination. While some people start to go for the "small, delicate" route, others decide to expand and create large, mural-sized work. The thematic content is also up to each artist as well. I do a lot of traditional Chinese cuts interspersed with comic and anime. These are the things I am interested in. But there are others who just stick with the one or take off and go for the abstract.

I wrote an article about paper-cutting a few years back: Project Educate: Introduction to Papercutting It showcased the range of paper-cutters and the different styles that exist on dA at the time (I need to update it eventually...) But I hope this will help you find your own way to excel!
