*grins* you deserve them! Is it possible to apply your skins to my desktop? Is that allowed? I am really not clear on how the whole system works yet. I pressed the "download" button but all it did was give me the original picture, not the skin.

Of course u can apply the skin, provided u install Blackbox. Blackbox is an alternative shell for Windows or a window manager for Linux, the styles (themes) being interchangeable between the two platforms, something unique in computing. I suggest u read my tutorials:

ARG! Ok, I went and isntalled the damn thing.... and applied it. Now my desktop is lovely and minimal, go me. BUT.... I cant seem to switch back to the Explorer mode! I have an essay due in so I need a shell I can work with quickly, that I know how to use. Please help *prays*

The one you reccomended in the tutorial. But have no fear! I worked out how to do it The only thing I am having trouble with now is getting the tabs on the task bar to behave in an orderly fashion, and getting the plug ins to do as I tell them. I can get them installed ok, I am just having a little difficulty working out how to get them set up to my liking.

Basicly, I want to have desktop icons, cos using the right-click menu is long winded, and I want to be able to have things on my desktop like my media player, a clock etc. I have the icon and interface plug-ins but I am really not sure how to get them to behave. And most of the quick-short-cuts on my old task bar have not been converted over to blackbox and I really rely on them.
Btw, I had to unistall blackbox for the time being as everytime I tried to boot up my computer it wanted me to chose which shell I used. I couldnt not find the exploer shell on my system so I was back to using blackbox full time. Do you know where I can find explorer? As I said, I dont have time to really get to grips with BB atm so thats not an option for me. And I cant seem to change backgrounds using the select and drop method. Doesnt want to work.

So I a dappy newbie Any help would be really appreciated! Thanks

OK, the shell thing first: explorer should be there as an option already, but anyway: open config.exe in shellon's folder and add (+) Explorer. It's in windows\explorer.exe.
The drag and drop method doesn't work under BBLean 1.16. Beats me why such a helpful option was taken off. Xoblite bb3 suppports this option, btw, with a twist - in fact, many twists. However, Xob doesn't work well with some plugins, like bbmuse.
Now, the desktop: I guess u need some icons on the desktop, a la Windows, so u r gonna need bbicons.dll. Read the instructions, it's relatively easy. As for Windows taskbar, u can either create a bbi frame including all ur shortcuts and stuff, or (more easy) use slit.dll to nest all ur shortcuts, like the one shown in my screenies.
