Hello to anybody bored or nice enough to read this! Anyway, I'm currently a high school student with no life aside from talking with friends, working, writing, etc. etc. I'm pale and don't go out much; sue me.
I am very academic, eccentric, and dedicated. And competitive with myself; I refuse to get anything lower than an A at school, and anything lower than a 95% is sometimes disappointing. Unless I don't care for the class much. Then anything above a 90 is fine.
Did I mention that I'm strange? Well, eccentric is a way of putting it nicely. It doesn't show as much online, though I can lapse into it. I promise, it's not a mental disorder. I'm actually mostly sane with a few blips of funniness. At least I'm happy!
Moving on, I've always been quite good in the math, science, and writing department, and yet in the recent years (See: four years) I've begun to realize my passion for writing. Fiction, as far as our universe is concerned.
I'm bad at drawing. I understand that it's a skill, or at least that's what everyone says, but I'd prefer to stick with my writing abilities for now. Maybe later I can work on drawing---I want to focus on the main part first.
Of course, though I labeled myself as a hobbyist, that's mostly because I primarily don't write academically (unless it's an assignment) yet I am not doing this for profit yet. I guess I default to it being a hobby until I get my first book published.
Oh, yes, the books, of course. I actually just finished the rough draft as of 5/14/12! Clocking in at just short of 90k words, I'd say it's a decent length. Still, it's time for revisions, so I have a long way to go. Life things tend to get in the way sometimes, but hey, that's for everyone, so no excuses! I hope to get this revision work done ASAP, setting goals and weekly deadlines just as I do for my short stories posted here.
But I won't be putting any of the actual book here. I'm too worried about putting the actual work on DA, on the Internet, where anybody can take it if they wanted. And besides, if I put it here, it probably won't be allowed to get it published! Also, all of the short stories here are set in the same series and world, but the actual stories are not relevant to the main plotline, or would be out of place if put in the actual book. So look at this page as a sort of 'bonus content' area, or even 'deleted scenes.' that just didn't make the final cut.
I have a very high respect for things like continuity and canon, and will probably never submit something that isn't canon unless I explicitly state that it isn't. Who knows? Maybe (here's me aiming for the stars) one day my fans would wander to this corner of the Internet and enjoy the supplementary material that is this page. Or I'd just make an independent official website. Yeah. That seems smarter. But until then, the 'my website' box will be empty.
