I will, in a few weeks. I do one or the other, but don't like mixing it. You will find several hundred of my cross-views in my gallery.

These are incredible! Β I've been fascinated by the art of free-view stereoscopy for years, and dabbled in it a bit myself. Β I'm especially amazed by the framing you do - I've never seen anything quite like it, and it adds such a surreal, almost pop-up-book quality to the images. Β Thanks for sharing these!

Thanks a lot for all the favourites! Glad you liked my gallery

Sometimes I think about making Stereoscopic versions of my own scenes. Though I can't help but wonder if anyone who watches me at all has the 3D glasses to appreciate it. Even I don't

But you could gain dozens of new watchers from the 3D community here at dA!
If you would learn Cross-Eye-3D viewing, you wouldn't even require 3d-glasses.
Just follow this link to an illustrated tutorial: starosta.com/3dshowcase/ihelp.…
This technique also offers true color of the image compared to the red and cyan
colored glasses.
After you accomplished X-Viewing, please aquire this 3D tool:
stereo.jpn.org/eng/stphmkr/ind…
Within StereoPhotoMaker try using the clone tool to paint depth into your images.

Your works are incredible, really! Especially the way of framing. I've never seen such a thing before. That's why it's so inspiring I'll definitely try to do the same.
Good luck!

I think your work is amazing. I have tried to do 3d photos and wondered if you needed any special photo package to produce high quality 3D pictures. I use photo-shop elements 10, is this enough, I'm not asking for you to give away how you do them. I just think your work is the best I have seen and would love to learn how to do them properly .

Thank you for showing interest in stereophotography. I'd like to share my knowledge if your interest is sincere. First you need a second camera of your model if that is capable of remote controlled shutter release. I don't speak of the ML-l3, because that works in the infrared. Although I don't tried this myself, I doubt that this works truly synchronous - which is a key to good stereophotography. Please try to find another way for remotely releasing either via cable or radio transmitters your D5100. See chapter Connectivity under [link]
Maybe the WiFi or USB port offer a solution.
If you search for other (cheaper) cameras, please keep in mind that D-SLR is best for stereo. Of course you can shoot static scenes (nothing is allowed to change). But that means: No cars, humans, trees, plants whatsoever. This might get boring pretty soon...

Hi thank you for responding. I will do a little research and see what I can do. I have put a couple of pictures in my profile, please could you let me know what you think. Do the two cameras have to be the same make. Thanks Tony.

Stereotron-3D In reply to madarcher48 [2013-04-20 18:39:10 +0000 UTC]

Not necessarily, but the same model (and the same lens) at least enable the same behaviour in terms of focus depth, the time required for focusing and maybe also synchronity. But the latter might work fine with different models. I just haven't tried that out. You could use one sender and two different receivers (each matching for the camera model). And if all 3 are from the same manufacturer, the whole thing might work. Lots of these products can be found here: [link]
I've described my equipment here: [link]

I just finished my thorough tour through Your gallery.
I did some +Faving, not so much commenting though, as You probably noticed. (Sorry about that!)
I've been experimenting with 3d text (adding my poems, short stories, lame jokes etc. to my 3d pics), but I noticed that You did texts to Your own (Amazing!) Works BEFORE I did- and even the similar way I nowadays do! I've been trying to mention every1, who I owe something, mostly after takin' some influence of their works, but I managed somehow miss Your works 'Chaffee' and 'Hyperstereo Setup in Cross View 3D', which would have taught me so much! (I didn't steal that style from You, but got there on my own! Still: You were the 1st, if that counts...)
I also noticed that Your 3Ds go even beyond 3D- those are "hyper- 3Ds", probably because of Your ingenious ways of doing those.
(So: I bow ever so deep to You!)

I added You to my +Watch. Sorry, I didn't do that earlier... Your Works and dedication to "the gospel of 3D" are so remarkable that I should have! (Well... Sometimes (maybe too often) I'm a bit slow.)
I'll check out Your gallery thoroughly later (must do quite a lot of +Favorizin' then...)
I can see Your (and Your Works') impact on (true) 3D here in dA quite often. I love (e.g.) the way You manipulate those "hard to see naturally in 3D" parts of Your pics by cropping those with the sharpness of a (3D) surgeon. (My own pics tend to lose the correct effect on the front, but You've developed an ingenious way of avoiding that!) (And I've seen some pics here with that technique used by others than You...)
Anyway, I must bow to You! (And return after watching, with faving!)
Timo
