ohhh, you are Dante's mommy? I absolutely fell in love with him when i saw him! It inspired me to remake my okami which (wishful thinking) would love to get done and go to Anime Boston to visit you guys and have a photoshoot!

And Yes, yes we will do this shoot. Volkodav already found us a nice location close to the convention center with a HUGE rose garden! XD

I hope you had fun the day you were here. I tried going out that day, I wore a mask and gloves so I wouldn't infect others and everything, but I just couldn't stay out too long, I felt so bad. This was probably one of the worst flu's I've ever had.

I just hope I can spend SOME time at the convention tomorrow, it would be nice to feel like I had some play on this vacation.

OMG, is that the San Jose Municipal Rose Garden? I've always dreamed of doing a shoot there! It's perfect for Utena.

I hope that you were able to get out at least a bit and have some fun. The flu can be horrible.

Anyway, let's do our Utena times next Fanime! I'm already planning on starting TV Utena.

I just ordered the book "Sewing For Dummies" yesterday from Barnes & Noble, so hopefully when I sew this new batch of costumes I'll have some idea of what I'm doing *laughs*

Heh - I've put aside the Anthy blouse idea for now - thank you for the pointers though - I'm making a blouse with puffy sleeves for a Harley Quin cosplay and I'm sure they'll come in useful for that too. If all else fails, I shall just stuff lots of cotton wool inside the puff to make it stay up >.I've got my machine now - so far all we've been sewing on it are rat hammocks for practice, but once we've got the hang of it all, I have a corset pattern to run up (hopefully with help) for Tia Dalma XD.

Oh yeah? I had to use a bunch of patterns for the school uniform shirt, adding in my own alterations of course, with help from a friend.

I bought a blouse pattern that had a lot of seams down it so it would be form fitting. It doesn't look like the one she wears, that magically fits her curves in the anime, but this way the top fits you all nice and looks super curvy. Then I used the sleeves from a princess ballgown pattern and like.. ended up having to make the sleeves 3 times the size of the original pattern before they were puffy enough. OH. And when you do the sleeves, there's this thing called a "Sleeve Stay" that makes them stay up so they're nice and poofy, and you don't need to do weird things to keep them up all day.

I hope this helps some. I'm a newbie at sewing too.
