But know that everyone has their own ways of learning and some people may not agree with my method. Sometime I questioned it myself but as an art student at school, I understand the basics of anatomy and proportions in consideration to certain aspects so I have an understanding and am able to apply it. But you will find your own way as long as you keep practicing. Some people say it helps to draw a cube and such and draw from different angles but I had no interest in doing this and it makes learning an effort, so I found my own way and so far, it hasn't let me completely down.

I have been doing a lot of stuff throughout this one month, but i still managed to practice a few on how hair flow works and proportions/structure of the head from the front view.

I'll start understanding how the head is built along with the body. Starting with a few books on realistic anatomy and general stuff. I'm hoping to create decent enough artwork by the end of these 12 months. After all the hassle of learning, i'm looking forward to going all-out with the ideas i have in mind right now. As for the anime part, i have a few problems with hair strands and generally detailing hair, but i know that's to be expected since i'm a beginner. Looking forward to what i'll achieve. And i'll be keeping an eye for your progress every once in a while..

Hello! - I looked at your DA page and see you have only just started practicing (you said about a month). Well the way I learnt to draw... I started last year January with manga/anime. I was really inspired and motivated but like you, I started with trying to draw frontal views and that's that's. Just the head. I learnt to draw them without using a reference and I would occasionally copy pictures and shade them- I just used pencil. My lines got smoother this way. I then moved on to trying different angles and only then started with bodies. Instead of improving as a whole, I worked my way down starting with the faces, but it can be quite frustrating not being able to draw a body. But I did what you seem to be doing. As long as you know, you need to try drawing other things sometimes so don't just learn how to draw a head. I still reference some poses but the character is made up by me. (Unless it's fanart) - but I'm not all too good at bodies yet but I'm still trying! Thank you! I hope you understand. You can just send me a note if you want further explaining or do not understand.
