Thanks very much. Unfortunately I'm incredibly busy with my final year of university at the moment so won't be able to take on any work for a while.

Oh my goodness gracious! WHAT COURSE!? As a first year for three years or as a year in a different country sort of thing?
π: 0 β©: 1
Ehrling In reply to Tarrigan [2012-05-10 09:50:57 +0000 UTC]
Illustration and Animation! And I'm doing all three years, because Sweden is a crap country that only have one Illustration course at uni lever in the whole country and that's Graphic Design and Illustration and I don't want to do graphic design. So I'm fleeing the country, more or less :3 What year are you in?

Tarrigan In reply to Ehrling [2012-05-10 10:51:40 +0000 UTC]
...woooah! That's mental I'm second year Illustration animation, so there'll be a year where we're together! and I'm going to be living in Kingston after, this is so strange!

Ehrling In reply to Tarrigan [2012-05-10 18:10:27 +0000 UTC]
Haha, yeah that is strange. I mean, the whole thing still feels absurd to me, moving to England, I don't think I'll really understand that I'm leaving Sweden until I actually do, and this is just making it all the more absurd. It's reassuring though, to know that theres people at kingston that have sort of similar style as me. Most people at my current school is so damn pretentious, having a dA account is more or less considered selling your soul to satan here.

yeah that's so funny!
Well, first year is great and the tutors Mark and Paul are really nice (though Mark scares me a bit). Kingston is a little pretentious, but not as bad as some other places.
We should definitely go for coffee at some point!

Ehrling In reply to Tarrigan [2012-05-11 15:45:44 +0000 UTC]
Yeah, I really did like the tutors from the impression I got during the interview, it's one of the reasons as to why I choose Kingston in the first place.
Haha yeah, we should. Guess we'll run into each other anyway. And god, then you'll see how much worse my spoken english is compared to when I'm writing on the internet. Gosh.
But yeah, back to business: What's the scenery like in cirrus? I want to try to make a proper background for this one.

did you come all that way for an interview?
It's tough, but hopefully it will all be worth it, you do learn some great things!
2nd and 3rd years don't tend to spend much time with the 1st years because we have different studios on different floors, but if you're going to go into animation then I'm sure we'll be bumping into each other in the light room.
I loved your background, the sand dunes were great.

Haha yes, I did but it was a lot of fun. Visited Portsmouth and Manchester Uni too. Craziest week of my life, think I clocked 13 hours of train rides in 4 days in a foreign country, haha.

WELL I have started on the general outline for the trade. Got the pose and face down but god, HOW do you come up with the clothing designs? O_O I'm totally at a loss here! (I don't really know what I'm saying here, I just bihdofhofdof)

Tarrigan In reply to Ehrling [2012-05-09 21:04:32 +0000 UTC]
Awesome, I am SO excited!
ha, well the uniforms are displayed in the pic with Owl May and Flit, those are all Cirrus uniforms, Stratus is basically bandages and floaty material attached to the wrists and ankles liek the pic of 'oncoming storm'
Basically, Stratus clothing has to be airy and light and flowing, to distract the attacker rather than protect the wearer. Cumulus is heavy thick leathers because they fight with swords, maybe some chain-mail. And Cirrus is what the three (owl, may & flit) have on, allows movement at the waist but protects the chest and thighs.
But to be honest I don't care what it looks like or whether it matches up to my lot's, it's your flight captain, what would you want to wear if you could soar through the skies commanding a squad of your best friends who are also ninjas

I've drawn a bit already since I wrote that, ahah. You can have a look here [link] if you want to. I decided to go for a more casual 'just practicing'-get up. His name is Christoph, he's a horrible flyer which really bothers him because he's the kind of douchy sarcastic guy who's used to getting whatever he wants and is pretty much good at everything. And he HATES the beginners-helmet. Is he persistent enough to learn, or will he give up and claim he's just to "busy" to be flying around?
Yep, pretty much just bullshitting at the top of my head right now. And I just noticed he is missing a foot so yep, better get on top of that.
By the way, is this a story that you have written/made into a comic or is it all in your head?

awwwwww wooow, he looks frickin' awesome!
Can't wait to see it finished and I love his personality.
Does he come from Cirrus like the others?
It's not really a story, more of a world building exercise. i have pages and pages on the environments, social structure, flora and fauna, education system, enemies, languages and culture. But no real narrative, other than short snippets like ArkhAsta's death.

Tabi is well. I am probably just about to make biscuits. I'm writing stories for a buddy of mine, I'm trying to figure out Philosophy essays, I'm watching the cat sleep and I need to water a turnip on my video game.
What are you up to? I'm happy to hear from yoooo
Yay! from Tabi xxx
