Are you referring to the anime or the manga?
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
TechieWidget In reply to battlecruiser006 [2014-10-17 05:55:23 +0000 UTC]
I am unable to translate the manga, because the publisher for the manga: Shogakukan would take them down due to copyright issues. Also, scanning the pages on a bed scanner can damage the volumes and it takes up a lot of time to do it. I am also not sure if the publisher stops producing them, ever since the manga series ended in 2012.
You don't need to know a lot of Japanese to understand what is going in the Saru Get Chu manga. The manga itself is targeted towards children, so it's not as difficult as reading a Japanese manga that is targeted towards an older audience. Even if you have little to no knowledge Japanese, you can still understand what is going on, since the story and humour is mostly told through the characters' actions, since the manga has a lot of slapstick and physical humour.

A very long time ago on a different account, I was suspended from deviantART for a week because I was uploading the Ape Escape manga when it was still being made. Since then, I stopped posting scans of the Ape Escape manga because I didn't want to go through the trouble again.

I am sorry for the late reply.
You can't really find it anywhere on the Internet, because there is barely any support for the Ape Escape manga.
However, there are some on corocoro comics' website.
www.corocoro.tv/tachiyomi/saru…
If you want to find the rest of the manga, you will have to buy the manga online, go to a local Japanese bookstore and check if they have it (Depends on where you live in North America or Asia. I don't know about EU), or go to Japan to buy it.
If you do get the chance to go to Japan, the Ape Escape mangas over there are really cheap (100-300 Yen = 0.83 - 2.51 US dollars) especially at Book-Off stores. Ordering them online and shipping them can be expensive, especially if you live in Canada.

The English subtitles are really helpful. Thank you very much.
They help me look out for the key words so I can relate and apply them to my knowledge in Japanese vocabulary.

saru actually means monkey.
Outside of Japan, they changed the title from "Monkey Get Chu" to "Ape Escape".

I keep spamming your page, I am so sorry. x'D
I just found out that Veronica Taylor is coming back to FanExpo this year, and I plan on making her a card this time while cosplaying Jimmy again. ^w^
Although I won't have my game case with me since she already signed it, that card will have a picture of Jimmy drawn by myself, and I'm going to go around asking fans of Ape Escape 2 and Jimmy if they'd like to sign it. Would you like to sign it as well? c:
I'm really sure she'll remember me since I'm the only Ape Escape fan she's met. XD THIS TIME, I'm also going to record her say something as Jimmy. >:'I But I don't know which line of his he should say. My favourite line of his is:
"Humans never stop trying! That's what gives us a future!" from the first time he captures Specter.

SuziePatutie In reply to TechieWidget [2013-06-18 21:42:55 +0000 UTC]
Once the card's done, I'm going to be sending it as a Photoshop file. A layer on top of the artwork that's titled "Signatures". Once you have your signature up, save it as a Photoshop file again and send it back to me. >w<
I'm going to be working on the card next month though.

Techie, Techie, Techiiiie! ; u ;
I found this video in December, but lost it, and found it again (today! xD) that explains how to get Jimmy's blue Water Net and how to unlock Songoku, Tommy and Mega Monkey in Monkey Soccer.
It's a mini-quel to Ape Escape 2 called Saru Getchu 2 Uki-Uki Disc. >w< If you have a NicoNico account, here's the video: [link] All you do is play extra mini games.
Plus the art is amazing. Jimmy got a third outfit now, yaaay~

TechieWidget In reply to SuziePatutie [2013-06-10 07:08:43 +0000 UTC]
Ahh...that's how you get the blue water net!
We never got the mini-quel over here, so I guess that's why the blue water net is such a big mystery.
Btw, where in the video is Jimmy's third outfit?

SuziePatutie In reply to TechieWidget [2013-06-10 16:05:34 +0000 UTC]
I kept looking at this picture of Jimmy's blue Water Net all over Google, but this video answered it all. I hope to get this mini-quel if I can ever find it. ;w;
Jimmy's third outfit is at the start up screen. When he appears with Pipotchi and releases the confetti horn, you'll find him wearing a short red-sleeved T-Shirt with a huge star on the front, and a long orange T-shirt underneath it. X3 Too bad I can't tell what footwear he has. D:

Oi, have u ever think of fandubing cutscenes in Ape escape million monkeys?
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
TechieWidget In reply to Specter1997 [2013-04-16 03:46:32 +0000 UTC]
I can't really fandub the cutscenes, because I have no idea what they are saying most of the time.
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
TechieWidget In reply to Specter1997 [2013-05-07 00:02:25 +0000 UTC]
I have been fluent in Japanese for 7 years, they talk ridiculously fast and so high-pitched (especially Spike's Japanese voice in the games) to a point where I have no idea what is going on. Some of the cutscenes like the one where Spike and Co. meet Virus Charu became confusing after the first four lines of dialogue. I also had no clue what was going on in that cutscene between Specter and Spike and Co.
In comparison to Saru Get Chu ~On Air~ 2nd, I was able to understand everyone's dialogue better (but not entirely). Even without understanding certain lines, I can still understand what is going on through the characters' interactions with one another.
Other than the confusing dialogue, I am not interested in subbing the game cutscenes because I feel that the story is not well-written, incomplete, has major plot holes, and was rushed to meet the release date.

Except there were no fans rushing Ape Escape Million Monkeys.
To me, the most rushed game Sony & Epics have to make is Piposaru Racer, which was released just six months after Million Monkeys.

Hey, Techie! :D
So I may have finally found out who the voice actress behind Touko/Tohko is. For North America, I mean.
Melissa Fahn. It's just that her voice is EXTREMELY close to Anise Tatlin, from Tales of the Abyss so it all clicked.
[link]
(Anise is the one brunette with pigtails)
You can hear Anise's voice a bit when you listen to Tohko here too:
[link] (When Tohko says "I'm really sorry.")
Do you think they're the same? That it's Melissa Fahn? c:

TechieWidget In reply to SuziePatutie [2013-02-27 20:59:34 +0000 UTC]
They almost sound the same, but with a slightly different pitch. Coincidentally when I was watching both video clips in the links you sent me, they both have lines where they said sorry. xD
It's very hard to tell who was in the voice cast for this game, since the characters' names were never mentioned in the credits.
