Hey y'all I'm Kaida. I'm 18 and I live STALKERS...just kidding. Anyway I'm very loud and kinda crazy, but that's just how I am and if you don't like it then...go away. I've only been drawing for a couple of years now and I started as a realease mechanisme for the cronic pain I had in my wrist and back. When the physical pain stopped the emotional didn't so I continue to draw as a form of realese and just because I love it. Writting has always been my passion. My stories and poems are just as much a part of me as my hands and feet.As long as I can remember I was always facinated with fairytales and especially the dragons and women in them. I love dragons to put it simply. When I was little I used to think that the dragons that kidnapped maidens were just lonely and waanted a friend. Yeah I was a strange child... anyways I always dreamed of being taken away by a dragon. In my mind they are wise and powerful creatures not the monsters stories I read as a little girl told me they were so, hence my gallery filled with drawing and poems about dragons.

one of my characters is named Temperance Windrider, When I joined I was in the process of writting a book about her. I scraped it and started rewritting it. But the name was sort of symbolic of how I was breathing life into a character that I'd had for aa long time. What does youre stand for

I used to have alot of problems coloring, it's really just the shading, though you definitly have that down in B&W

I hate coloring cause it just takes too much time for me and my colored pencils keep breaking they are old so i gotta buy new ones. ^^

it is time consuming and ya ou really need good pencil crayons to be profficiant. may I recomend tryin watercolor pencils? you can get really inexpensive ones and they give a more even color

its the not the even color that is the problem. If you see some of the works i've colored i can get an even color quite well. its that my pencils are old and have been dropped too many times. that means the lead is broken so i have to keep sharpening my pencils. it gets frustrating.

yup. thats why i gotta get new pencils. But even then i find shading easier cause its just gray scale.

I dunno I find with gray scale you have to pay much more attention to the lighting

Maybe thats why coloring is hard. more irritating shading then pencil. cause shading colors takes different skill than black and white.

that's true when you're shading color you don't just have to concentrate on the color you're working with but also with the contrasting color

and you have to blend the different colors. >.< Which is a pain cause you can only have a certain amount of layers of color.

you can have as many layers as you want as long as you colour lightly

not really. see colored pencil is kinda like a wax substance. the wax sticks to the paper. but once there are enough layers that the wax cannot attach to the paper, then you cannot apply more. no matter how lightly you color. wax doesn't apply to more wax. My aunt taught me to color with the pencils. she was very talented. but i didn't get to learn much from her cause well... nevermind. anyway. still don't like the colored pencils but i do know how to use them to an extent.
