I have to say that I agree with you'rre comments on the SPLICE Contest winner and I followed the links. You're right about those refs I think. I also have this to say,
I've taken a look at this artist gallery and I think he did a great job on this contest entry.
It's because it looks so real is why it won. Yes it does look like a photo. I'm sure he had a great collection of refs to go by. Google embryos and you'll see that this image is a tough look to capture. It looks like it is part bird. A bird embryo looks a lot like this. So the only thing that was the best about this creature photo look I would say is the point of view.

Oh I get it. The winner of that SPLICE Contest won for two reasons only and that is the creator of the movie or director was looking for something like this to choose as the winner. 2nd reason is because the contest entry got the most views.
So no I don't think the SPLICE Contest winner should have won at all based on on most viewed contest entry.

Although your comment was rather rude, I will take it into consideration. Iβm quite certain that Iβm not a professional. This is not a career choice for me its just fun. These are photos I think are beautiful my model and I work quite hard and Iβd rather appreciate that you not criticize what I love without even singling out a work. I didn't further the comment because, as I said, I had no idea if you were seriously going after professional photography, or just taking fun photos. Your lighting and focus is like that of a quick snapshot with a very cheap camera; and if you want more explanation, here: they're all photos of yourself with smudgy makeup. If you want more professionalism, study up on technique and consider your subject matter. I never said anything sucked; I never said you were bad. If you can't take honest critique, stop posting on a public website. Yes, we should cease correspondence immediately.

Evidently you donβt know the meaning of rude. I can take criticism but only when itβs constructive if you had been nicer about what you said perhaps I would think you a credible source. If you had explained ways I could better my photos in a nice proper way instead of just trying to shoot me down, I would have been glad to receive your message but it was not kind it was just rude.
