Are you aware that a Sin and Punishment fanclub was formed on DeviantArt over four months?

Hey there, man. Been a while since we have talked here in DA. How's it going on your end? BTW, there's something that I think you may want to see that has been going through the Internet since this last Monday [link] . Tell me what you think on it.

Hey there, man. How's it going? BTW, did you hear about recently that in a Turkish website that Nintendo Power could reveal a new Starfox Wii game in one of their upcoming issues of that magazine? I found this info in Wikipedia. If what they say is true, then we might be able to see that game in their upcoming October Media Conference this year like what they did last year with S& 2 and Punch-Out.

Yeah, I saw it.
And I've been fine. Found myself doing a lot lately.
Been working on a comic for a friend.
Been watching the batman animated series and films in anticipation for Batman Arkham Asylum.
And I've been on a rush with fighting games.
With only less than two weeks till school starts for me.

Really? Well, I'm doing fine here on my end. Did you also hear about the fanmade Starfox game that is going to be on the PC which is being done illegally by a team known as SOL?

Yeah. but I still think it's illegal to what they are doing. I rather wait for the official one. Besides, what if Nintendo themselves give them a cease and desist letter to what they are doing even if it's something that they have been working on for 6 years? That's why I hope that their October media conference better have something that will blow us away.

Why, because making something that's obviously fan material isn't allowed, and only the original creators can determine what happens?
Personally, I don't see what's wrong with something that's paying tribute to a franchise with a good fanbase. I mean, some dude on Newgrounds was making a Zelda sprite movie series, called Four Swords Misadventures, and he got the cease and desist order. I wouldn't be surprised if Super Mario Bros Z was forced to stop, I mean that's TWO franchises being used.
Of course, this is something coming from a guy who prefers not to buy an official product when there's a frewware alternative.
I could spend tons of money modifying my PS2 and importing DDR games, because the Japanese playlists are better. But, I got Stepmania, and I got just about every song from the japanese DDR mixes up to Supernova.
Same goes for the case with Guitar Hero, cause I'm tired of Activision milking the franchise, so I'm cheating them out of my money.
Yeah, sorry for the rant. But the idea of that freeware Starfox being illegal, as well as the newgrounds series I mentioned makes me think they might as well not allow any sort of fan created content.

True. As I said, I rather wait and see until they reveal the official game. I know they are doing it with good intentions. But it's not right to what they are doing. I just hope Nintendo gets their heads out of their asses because if they seriously think that the Mario, Metroid and the Zelda series are going to be the only 3 franchises are going to save their asses from the core gamers, they are so dead wrong. As much as I love the Mario and Zelda series, it's not enough to satisfy us at all.
As for the guy who got a cease and desist letter for doing that Zelda movie series in Newgrounds, he got what was coming to him for being the asshole he is by posting it.

Man, just take my advice.
Stop expecting your game to come at every corner possible.
Move onto something else, and THEN be excited for something that has been legitimetly announced.

Well there are some others that I'll be happy about such as New SMB Wii. Quick question, I've been hearing rumors that the game is going to be delayed until next year. Is that true? Some others coming up in November are RE: Darkside Chronicles, Tatsunoko vs. Capcom, and Guitar Hero Van Halen. I suppose you got tired of playing Wii Music and you got bored of it very quickly. Don't say I didn't warn you.

I only rent my games from Gamefly nowadays, I wasn't bored with it, I can only have one game at a time because of how much the monthly fees cost, so I had to send it back when I wanted Mirror's Edge.
And no, I haven't heard anything about the game being delayed. I doubt there'd be any reason to do so right now seeing as there's not much competition for them. Unlike on other consoles, where even the slightest sign of Halo or Call of Duty pushes other games into 2010.

Well I just hope that it doesn't get delayed because that would really piss off the core gamers for the holiday season.

Well I wish I had a PS3. But the problem is that the economy is still in the pits at the moment and until they make a PS3 that is cheaper like what they did with the PS2, then I might get it. But right now, it's still damn expensive. Believe me, there are several games that I have played on the PS3 that I love such as Street Fighter IV, Resident Evil 5 and Soul Calibur IV. I still would love to play Metal Gear Solid 4. That is why I hope Nintendo get themselves back on track. Because personally, you may want to blame on the person responsible for slowing Nintendo down who is Reggis Fils Aime.

Well, my family actually got it as a replacement for one of our previous DVD players, since it's the cheapest Blu Ray player, so it wasn't coming out of my money, unlike the Wii which I bought myself.
Got the 40gb version, which kinda sucks because there's no backwards compatability, but hey, still good.
Best part about it all, with a bit of computer work, you can make PS3 controllers work on PCs, without having to buy drivers or adapters, unlike Microsoft.

Oh you can use PS3 controllers on a PC? Interesting. Could it work on Laptops also? You know I got a Blu-Ray player for my birthday earlier this year which was $100 cheaper than the PS3 and it was a Sony. If the PS3 would have been like that, I would have gotten it instead.

Yeah, most likely. Yeah, there are drivers that are required, but again, they are free and available on the internet.
And a blu-ray player cheaper than the PS3? What was the price, because there are different PS3 units with different price points.

Yeah I know and the game is a lot of fun. You know there are some of the franchises from Nintendo that has had their own animated series. It's hard to believe that the Starfox and the Metroid are the ones that we haven't seen yet as a TV series. They do have a lot of potential for it. Wouldn't you agree?
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
The-Alaskan-Artist In reply to dragonheart07 [2009-08-16 03:25:10 +0000 UTC]
Depends. Starfox I can definetely see being able to work out. Metroid, well, the best games in the series, Super Metroid especially, pretty much involve Samus being in a hostile environment with no real human contact. That series I think would work great as an animated film. Or maybe a compilation like the Animatrix, with a bunch of different short films each exploring a part of the Metroid universe. I'd like that.

MAME? What's that? As for the Conduit, I say the hell with it. I'm not really that big on first-person shooters like that where you have to roam. So I say screw that one and the upcoming game of The Grinder.

You can skip them, that's fine by me.
And MAME is an emulator that lets you play arcade games. The hard part though is trying to find the rom that has all the parts. Luckily I managed to find plenty, alot of them alot of old school games, and some of Yu Suzuki's work (stuff like Space Harrier and Outrun).
