okay i noticed that your profile says your from France so i was wondering if you could tell me what 'I've been saved by an Angel' translates to in French. I've used Google but when i translate it back into English to double check the translation it comes out as 'I was saved by an angel' was not been and perhaps that it is the right translation but i want to be sure yay know?

The-French-Belphegor In reply to TheLostDragonRider [2017-04-02 12:42:25 +0000 UTC]

Sure! It depends on the context, though. Like, who is the speaker's gender? It makes a difference in the way you write the sentence (and sometimes also pronounce, depending on the verb).

So I'd say "J'ai été sauvé par un ange" if the speaker is male, and "J'ai été sauvée par un ange" if the speaker is female. But honestly, the sentence, while grammatically correct, sounds a little heavy and clunky. It could also be "C'est un ange qui m'a sauvé-e" or "Un ange m'a sauvé-e." Could you give me more context around the sentence?

my mom was a big Hogan's Hero's fan when she was a kid and passed it to me XD
any who's i want to write a short story about lebeau falling in a river and having his sorry butt saved by newkirk. lebeau would be dased and hallucinating and say 'i've been saved by an angle' in french and newkirk wouldn't know what in the world he said. later while lebeau is laying on his cot passed out newkirk would ask kinch what lebeau said and kinch would translate and once lebeau woke up newkirk would just start hounding him never letting him live it down XD

No offence to Newkirk (love him lots), but mistaking him for an angel? Wow, LeBeau must be pretty damn dazed Okay, "Un ange m'a sauvé" works pretty well here, IMO. If he's replying to someone (even vaguely in a barely-awake way) "C'est un ange qui m'a sauvé" works, too. Hope that helps! And don't hesitate if you have other translations, I love doing that

well in LeBeau's defenses it would be night time when this happened so it's dark out and he would probably have water in his eyes making things a little blurry XD

What should we do for Hogan's Heroes' 50th anniversary, coming up in September? I think it would be cool if whatever we did, we let Robert Clary and Kenneth Washington know about it. Maybe Nita Talbot, too.

The-French-Belphegor In reply to MountainLygon [2015-07-14 17:44:49 +0000 UTC]

This is a great idea, but I must admit I have no idea what  Maybe compile together our favourite fanfics (they'd have to be one-shots, though) and fanarts, make a book out of it (which we wouldn't sell to anyone - or maybe send the link to people who'd want to buy it but make it private in the settings? I know lulu.com does something like that), and send it to Robert Clary, Kenneth Washington and Nita Talbot. There's have to be good LeBeau, Baker and Marya stuff among the stories, but that's easy to find We could also collectively write a foreword or a note telling them what Hogan's Heroes mean to us, and how much we enjoy reading and writing stories based on these characters they incarnated 50 years ago.

What do you think?

MountainLygon In reply to The-French-Belphegor [2015-07-15 01:15:42 +0000 UTC]

That's not a bad idea. It might take some work to find their mailing addresses. Robert Clary's website isn't current, but as far as I know, his nephew's email is.

The-French-Belphegor In reply to Knight-Watcher [2015-02-23 12:19:08 +0000 UTC]

Really? Wow. You know, I find the idea that it's painted on a wall halfway across the world rather lovely

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Knight-Watcher In reply to The-French-Belphegor [2015-02-23 23:03:18 +0000 UTC]

Yes its better than some of stranger things I have seen painted on these walls except for maybe instances of ignore this graffiti.

Also in Lego Batman 3: Beyond Gotham - Batman says Je Suis Batman in a level called Europe Against It.

The individual levels have definite references all over the place like Breaking BATS, The Lantern Menace, etc.

All the Lantern Corps make some kind of appearance in the game except maybe the Black Lanterns unless there's a future DLC for them.

The Bonus Level is devoted to the 1966 Live Action series starring Adam West.

The most recent DLC is one for the Bizarro characters like Bizarro, Batzarro, Bizzara, Cyzarro, and GreenZarro.

Also what happens in the Beyond Gotham story involves the lantern rings and how each color has a different effect on whoever was expose to them during a major confrontation with the story's primary antagonist.
