I use a Bamboo Pen and Touch tablet to be exact.

I use it to draw sketches directly in Photoshop.

However it's not really necessary to have a pen tablet to make digital art.

Thanks! however, i already know about that method, tried it with [link] . AND YES I KNOW. having a tablet wont improve my drawing skills,i was just thinking on how it would feel when using a tablet, maybe leveling my drawing capabilities to a different level.

Sorry, actually I mistakenly assumed that you were the same person who I replied to previously.

To be honest I practically just use the tablet to sketch my drawings directly to the computer. That's it. It's just such a hassle for me to draw on paper then scan the drawing then clean the lines using photoshop especially when I'm drawing comics which involves a lot of panels and characters.

Although it's not necessary to create digital art it does speed up the task of drawing and that's what I like about graphics tablets.

PS I'm actually curious on how exactly you do your art.

no sweat.

i'm about exactly the same. draw then scan then digital editing.

pencil and pen are my bread and butter actually. but monochrome art is not enough for me. that's why i'm relying on gimp or photoshop for colors and cool effects 'cos scanning colored plates (drawings) isn't what i'd exactly call 'good quality'.
