Well it kind of is but isn't. XD My main art gallery name is Therion on weasly.com and that name was tooken on DA. Lol So I had to find something different. So I looked up like we're wolves transformations but I wanted a term that would include all species because I like drawing weird morphs of animals put together. But I ran into some problems.

Therion means Wild Animals, Beasts, or sometimes wolf. 
Therianthropy root word comes from therion. So it meant beast transformation in essence. 

I took the name before I knew what Therians were. I don't have anything against them but they kind of just coined the words therian and therianthropy. So I was getting confused for therians right off the back. Lolz I wanted to use therianthropy but it ran the same risk of being made out to be a therian. So I kind of decided I already am being mistaken why not make my own word.

Because the reason I picked therion was because it meant beast and wild animals. I love the idea of making monsters and wonderful creatures. I love transforming animals into these morphed monsters. And at the time I was experiencing like a great change in my art and attitude. My older art name wasn't cutting it because this felt like a new chapter. A new chapter deserved a new beginning. So in essence Therionthropy kind of took the meaning of transformation, not just in physical form of beast but internal growth. XD Kind of sappy but Therion is stuck and I'm attached to it reguarless of being mistaken as a therian. Lolz xD I sign my name as Therion on my art.
