You know how people teach that the primary colors are red, yellow and blue, but they're actually magenta, yellow and cyan?
What if I work to get a master's degree in art, and teach my kids the actual primary colors
So when their teacher tells them it's red, yellow, and blue, they'll correct her, and the teacher might call me about why I'm teaching kids that stuff
Then I'll say, "Honey, I'm the one who has a master's degree in art."

Another neat thing to note, if you don't know it already, is that the primary colors actually differ depending on what medium is being used to display the colors.
The ones you mentioned are for pigments, but other materials actually are red, yellow, and blue.
For light, the primary colors are red, green,Β and blue, but computer programs don't base their default color palettes around them to avoid confusion, though it is impossible to cut out magenta being in-between red and purple when selecting colors in Photoshop.
And another neat fact is that different colors and gradients actually affect temperature! Since black is a combination of all colors, that means that no colors in the spectrum bounce off, making it hotter than white, where everything bounces off. That's why most summer clothing is warmer colors, ironicallyΒ enough; it's literally cooler. Same with why there are so many black jackets in winter.
