I went to Japan for about 2 months and I barely finished my term, so Im back home now. Same here, im still taking classes at my university. What are you studying at your university? Yeah, I mostly play Ace Combat and Fallout though and some older games however.

Dude I totally recommend you go. Although..id recommend going to Kyoto/Osaka?Nara area for older Japanese history and TOkyo for more modern culture. Well Japanese is kinda tough so yeah. Fricken kanji suuuuuuucks. T_T Yeah dude honestly go for it, its really cool and Im sure youll have a good time. Oh wow those major actually are pretty good together I thing, thats a smart combo.

Yeah I'm pretty interested in going to the tokyo area as of right now. Pretty interested in modern Japan so I think tokyo would be the place to go. Yeah I've heard learning japanese is tough so we'll see how learning it goes. You had english teachers?

Yeah if you go, definitely Akihabara dude lol You can find a bunch of Steins Gate locations and its kinda crazy just being there lol Yeah i mean just put in the time and fight through it and eventually youll get it haha. I had Japanese teachers actually and they spoke some english so it was kinda cool because we figured out how to pronounce things like native speakers and stuff. Like California has a good amount of Japanese speakers but they arent always easy to come by sometimes.

Funny you mention it because Akihabara is top on my list haha. It just seems to be such an interesting different city. Yeah when I go to california there is a lot more diversity in people and languages being on the west coast and all. Im hoping I can get a basic understanding of the language before I go. But yeah I want to go to all the major locations near tokyo or around tokyo like Akihabara and check out the radio kaikan building.

Oh my goooood the radio kaikan building...dude you will go bankrupt. The WHOLE building is anime, manga, figures omg dude its ridiculous youll love it there. And yeah...youre just gonna blow so much cash there its not even funny lol yeah if you can try to go in knowing a little bit so you know how to get around and stuff because not many people speak english. But transportation in tokyo is godly and the stops are in english so its pretty cool. You can probably tackle all of the major spots in tokyo in a week or maybe even 5 days but yeah it was so funny being in Akihabara and watching steins gate because youre all like holy shit wait I remember this place!

Dude I was so afraid of going broke in japan. My inner Otaku went fucking insane I literally had to resist buying things....it was....terrible....but amazing. Yeah dude tell me when you go and you can ask me anything you want if you need help planning stuff out! I went during summer yes. You should look up programs at your university and if you plan on doing a long term stay it would be cool to try doing homestay but that option is totally up to you lol

Ahhh man Im  really excited to go. Still in the planning process but uhhhhhhh it will be so sick. Where in Japan did you go again? Near the Tokyo area yeah? Im hoping to just do a summer or semester so I probably won't do home stay. Although home stay would be really immersive and awesome.

I'm excited for you! I actually did my term at Osaka and it's pretty cool because they had their own version if akihabara and although it wasn't as big it had MUCH more variety and it was way cheaper. But yeah I also went to Tokyo for a week. I did a summer program and got homestay, it's possible to do it !
