Does using a tablet make things easier than when you just use a mouse?

of course! It's practically impossible to draw anything on the computer using a mouse (unless you're incredibly patient) So I would certainly recommend using a tablet for digital art ^^

btw, when i started off with digital art I sucked SOOOO bad (as I was used to only using traditional materials), but as long as you practice like crazy (and use a graphic tablet lol) you'll get used to it
