Aw I don't think they abandoned him! It's just, if you continue to tell the same story over and over again, people will become bored of it, and then maybe resent it. That would hurt more than the series ending. I look forward to seeing how they implement Shepard's legacy into future Mass Effect series games! And there is always fan art / fan fiction B)

Many fan-fictions continue to tell the same story in different ways over and over again
and I don't think it's boring, I want more instead, I can't get enough of it
