Points here on DA are bought and sold mainly for the use of buying items and certain services. Mainly they're used to pay for a subscription to DA so you can access even more things for your account and even spruce it up to make it look more unique.
It's why most artist here offer point commissions as an alternative to cash commissions or alongside them.

I'd say like 100 for a sketch with 50 or so points extra for another character. 200 for lineart and 50 extra for another character. 300-400 for color depending on the complexity and 50 for extra characters. For something with more work done (like shaded colored pic or for a complex background) I'd say that'd be worth 500-700 points.
