Loved this entry on your "rants" about pixel-art, and couldn't agree more.

Thank you so much! I liked the "explaining pixel art" aspect a lot, so I might be trying basic guides for pixelling, pixel palettes, ect in the near future.

Haha, it's all good!
I'm sorry if I called you out on your deviation's page, I'm just trying to help out with cleaning up the pixelart section and raise awareness about what truly is pixel art (journals coming soon that I can link people to).

I saw your comment on ~sayassa 's journal, and I was inspired to check out your profile. Heck, you seem to be a good writer just from that comment-that one was a great inspiration. And I pixel art.^^ Thanks for putting into words what I couldn't.

Haha, my vocabulary always seems to expand when I'm talking about something I'm passionate about: I'm just glad that people agree with me and see the problem that's occurring on this site. Thanks, and I'm glad to be an inspiration

Same here. Big words just pop out! Really, things like that keep this place from being the best art community it can be, and I'm really glad awesome people like you realize that!

Oh, pixel art always looked difficult to me for some reason...
Have you ever done line art or other art forms? If so, would you say pixel art is harder or easier?
I'm trying to explore and try out different forms of art, so I just thought I'd ask your opinion on the matter. (:

I've spent my life in most areas of art -- I paint with acrylic on canvas and experiment with cubism (my artistic affinity with squares is one reason I also took to pixel art), and I've also been heavily involved with scenic design/painting.
Pixel art is demanding in its own way really -- it focuses heavily on the artist's understanding on color theory, and forces you to pay attention to details. It's a wonderful artform for general practice: I've been dabbling with photography the last couple of days and tinting some photos, and I've found myself coloring based on what I've learned about color doing pixelart, and with pleasing results
Give it a shot, and here's a couple of communities dedicated to helping teach pixelart: www.pixeljoint.com, www.wayofthepixel.net/pixelation

Swing by my page. Looking to possibly hire you for a large project. Would like to speak about pricing. Would like an easier way to communicate and a good time frame to speak with you. Thanks, ZOMGames.

What kind of program do you use for pixel art? I've always wanted to explore pixel art more.

Paint, Photoshop (just the basic tools like Paint has, and its wonderful color selection setup), and GraphicsGale.
You'll find that a large number of professionals use GraphicsGale, but I'm using the free edition so I have to use the other two programs to make up for what it doesn't have.

Hey, there are some other groups that might interest you in joining for spreading your art around to more people who love pixel arts in various forms:
Also, stamp pixel arts is popular too:
.-. Iunno if any of them interest you or not but thought I'd pass along some links just in case you might be.
