Can I give you a advice if you don't mind? Do go for a degree in animation course. I'm doing one B. Sc. course in animation. Man, it sucks! If you REALLY wanna know why, do ask, but it's gonna be long reply.

Good fr you. Keep practicing. It'll help you a lot.
I used to be draw a lot in my school time. A lot. But here it's all software & software!! They actually kill your work joy! & also don't support things like manga & other foreign stuff. They also pass through software like whirlwind. I've learnt Illustrator, Photoshop, Sound Forge, After Effects, Premiere, Flash & I'm learning Max now. All this in year!! Now calculate how much time each software got!!! I've learnt so many softwares but finally in my profession I'm only gonna use only one! So wouldn't it be better if I got to learn only 1 software but all the things of that software? Ps alone is huge complicated mammoth, let alone other softwares. Believe me, all that you see in my gallery don't even have a slightest relation to my college work stuff. They teach you how to color, about anatomy etc. technical things! They don't even touch up on how to create great characters or go to analyze why do you find disney's or marvel's characters or mangas so great & attractive!! There are many disappointment that I haven't even touch upon.
My advice would be, go for a normal graduation course. Develop your skills & creativity. Then do a diploma course in 3d modelling. To be 3d model you need to have very very clear concept about objects & anatomy.
Hope I paint a clear picture. If there's anything you wanna ask me, feel free.

I see. And I can understand learning that many softwares in just a year must be hell ! Yes.. I guess I'll go for a diploma course in modelling. Maaybe, I'll upload a few models of mine here in DA, if I get time lol..
And thanks for the advice. Really appreciate it. Its a long time till I actually get to study animation though !
BTW in which college are you doing your B.Sc ?

Arena Animation situated in park st. & dude, don't think it's long time!! Keep practicing to get better. At the the risk of sounding like a dialogue from 3 idiots, I'd say, it's a huge competitive market out there & the more you are advanced the better you are. Get some anatomy books & study them in free time. Softwares are just tools to get your work done. You'll be using them like a pro in no time. Until you have imagination power it's just hard disk space wastage. Also just to know manga & anime better, I hugely advice you to read Scott McCloud's Understanding Comics.
I want to be a concept artist, promotional art artist & a comic book artist. May be someday will come when I'll design characters &
you'll be modelling them in 3D!! LOL!!

OK. Advice TAKEN. I'll keep practising till I become as good as those who are studying animation (before I even study it lol xD).
And alright I'll check the book out then. Thanks a lot man.

And just so you know, It's not just with arena. It's almost the same with maac, RTG animation etc. Only a little better is Webel academy which doesn't have B.Sc course till now. BTW Webel has Tom & jerry famous Thomas Eddison (students call him Eddie Sir) as one of the mentors. I had a chance to meet him. He's a great guy.
