Thank you - I may aspire to graphic artistry but it's the art of words I'm a master in now. I was in a back and forth with another artist up here and that quote just sort of happened...but when she went bananas over it, I was quick to act. Lol.

Wonderful! I have a great deal of confidence in my writing, and always felt that if I could just get the people I asked to do this to read enough to be interested in the story for its own sake, my chances of getting some good illustrations would go way up. You are the first though...but at least I was right. Looking forward to whatever I get. Purely out of curiosity, which scenes are those? (and just how many chapters did you do? We start getting some more serious emotional bang around seven or eight...but things don't really start hitting the high points till about thirteen)

I'm going to have to re-read some chapters to be honest, lol. Sometimes, having Sakura calling her sister "Rin" or Shirou not calling Rin "Tohsaka" bothers me! But again, small details. I wasn't as intrigued by the new threat though. Maybe I missed a few important details about the hows or whys. The scenes I enjoyed a lot were the conversations between characters. They are who they are, kudos to you! The scene I'd like to do first and foremost is when Shirou meets Arturia for the first time. It is an important scene, especially with the "time skip". In fact, I would have to factor those 6 years in for everybody, indeed. I'd like to try that!

PS: New spells and skills for everyone! That's certainly changes things abit, but only in my mind.

Saber's not aging is connected to Avalon: it is a long term side effect of its restorative properties. Since the present Arturia does not have Avalon, she ages normally. About five or six years older than the anime version, just like everyone else.

All your call - just read and draw when you can, I haven't gotten anything from anyone else yet either, even the ones who sounded really interested. I just keep finding people and giving them this invite - and when I finally get something, I'll be delighted. In the meantime, dont' sweat it.

I started doing this, and continue doing this, simply because I wanted some really nice illustrations of Fate Spiral Time. I've put a lot into the story, and if you'll excuse what sounds like bragging, I'm a very good writer. I wanted to see it in color and form, and I unfortunately don't posses the skill set to do it myself (I'd like to, but I don't). I felt that the best way to get results, under the circumstances, was to tell those artists I asked to read and draw what they felt like. I'm an elitist at heart: I really want to see pictures of a certain level of quality and above. And as a fellow creative, I knew that I'd see the most effort and detail if they were drawing what they wanted to (especially since I can't pay...). There's another angle to it as well: a picture is worth a thousand words, and with the choice of scenes up to them, each picture would really be very much like a thousand word review. I was - am, I suppose, though it still hasn't happened - really looking forward to seeing which scenes (or what images) those turn out to be.

Trying to analyze just what 'more about myself' should involve - well, for starters, there is really no one else 'involved' in the fic. Two or three other artists have expressed varying degrees of interest, but I haven't received any actual artwork. I'm the only writer. I've been a reader since my parents tossed the television for good when I was seven, and have been practicing fiction writing since ninth grade. That included reading a great deal of how to write books and training myself to read analytically at all times (sometimes this improves books, often not - the price you pay to improve your craft I guess). I only found anime two years ago. So, I'm quite serious about writing. I started Fate Spiral Time, in addition to all the usual reasons for writing a fanfic, as a testing ground and training: until then, I'd lacked the discipline to follow through and complete even a novella, let alone a novel. Well, it's been over a year and there's at least a hundred thousand words in it excluding author's notes, so Fate Spiral Time will be my last fanfic. After this, it will be original work only. The details of my fantasy universe are already developing. But don't think this doesn't mean I'm not dedicated to finishing FST: it's quite the opposite. There's no way I'd stop now. I'd never forgive myself (neither would a lot of its fans).

Perhaps some details on what I'd like to DO with the artwork is in order. That link leads to my blog/website (I love wordpress): primarily I'd want to post them there. Not sure about if I'd want to put them right into their respective chapters or create a gallery page, but the one thing I can assure you of is due recognition: whatever info you want to accompany it, you get. Links included. If I get enough artwork from one person, or a reasonable amount from several people, I might make an artists bio page. Additionally, once the story is through, I've contemplated making an ebook of it. I'm trained in graphic design, so I can make a professional PDF, all the appropriate bells and whistles. No guarantees there of course, but if I do, the pictures will be there as well, once again with whatever info you please, plus a one paragraph bio under my own. I think that covers everything: if you do decide to do it I'll want to discuss a few things about appearance, since the timeline picks up five years later and things have changed a bit.

Anyway, as I said before, be sure to try the story before you sign. Whether or not you think you could, for its own sake, enjoy drawing for it is the biggest factor (after having enough time in your life for such a thing of course).

That's the idea. I went through your gallery, and when you do go for enough detail, what you get is really quite nice. In particular I noticed the Aria picture. (even if you don't make a sketch, I nailed another reader ^_^)
