Jack here! Creator of a hopefully decent comic called Zephyr. I'm a media graduate, now working freelance jobs as a video editor and technician.However in my downtime, I make fun fantasy/sci-fi stories for kids and fans of comics alike! I make characters on a whim for my friends and play a lot of board games.
I hope you'll stand by me as I churn out some art which will hopefully be well received by you guys, my greatest critics.

Good, if you want to make a thing of this, ID suggest getting a portable scanner of your own. So it comes out better I mean.

Why does a black and white version (pencil) look so different to the exact same drawing done in colour? Mmmmmmmm.... black and white looks more classy but I guess it depends :3 How do I improve?

Good, it's better to try with both colour and greyscale. It's traditional art in my opinion since it's a hand-drawn piece on a computer. Honestly, at the end of the day it comes down to what you think looks better for you and practicing that. Take me for example, I cannot colour well so I use greyscale to simulate what the colours may look like in a black and white picture.

Black usually is bolder and easier to see. It works equally well for both. I don't know anyone who uses a white frame for such pics.
