I'm not quite sure how to answer that question. When I want to make something like the Dragon Scales Bangle, I look for a freely available pattern. If I can't find one, I try to figure out which technique and beads are required. Sometimes this information can be obtained from pictures, other times you have to do a little more digging. For example, the technique used to create the bangle was pretty obvious to me by looking at photographs, but the unusual beads puzzled me for a long time. The next step is to learn the technique if you don't know it already, and to find a shop selling the necessary beads. All the rest is try and error. Too much effort? You can also search for patterns to buy ;) (Wink)
