It is, although of course when working professionally I'm maybe 25% artist and 75% craftsperson or so (meaning, to what degree do I produce things I might've done on my own and to what degree do I contribute to designs vs just produce what other people have designed). But it is fun, varied and challenging work that gives plenty of tools that can be put to use for making ones own stuff too. Well, many people fall out of working professionally because of the stress of making ends meet, but I've been pretty lucky this last year.

Yes, that is a drawback, but it is good you still have work doing what you love to do. Life seems like it is always a compromise.
