im new to portland scene totally, moved here from freaking south america this past may.. so im kind of lost still......with selling do you mean the thursday's market? because i have seen one near where i live but i havent seen that much artists in it. it is mostly a farmer's market. i know saturday market, were i have seen more artistic related products, im trying to give that a try but the fees can be a pain because i dont have a stable job rigth now... sorry for the rant where do you live by the way? i live near dowtown, in the pearl district....

I live in Beaverton like out by Tanasbourne. I have a day job that has nothing to do with art ... What do you do for work now?


On the last thursday of every month- NE Alberta all the galleries open to show the new work for the month. There is a ton of street vendors. I usually set up around 18-20th block. Here is the link [link] - It is pretty big and pretty unique- like you have to stop by the clown house. The clown house is a house that the people who live there dress up and do tricks for money. The event in your neck of the woods is first thursday in the pearl. [link] - here is the link. I usually set up around the 3rd block- but first thursday does cost to set up where alberta is free for street vendors. First thursday for street vendors starts at the Paragon - 13th and Hoyt.

wow that's such a great information, i had no idea of all that...i might go this month and see...im working as an "informal" assitant for a friend of my mom (that works in real state -iuk-) and also i will start giving some spanish classes at the pcc in sept (utterly terryfied by this last one) my hope is to save some money and move with my kitties to the east coast (althought everybody i know its against this) but i need more jobs to get more money so yes, im also working in things that are not what i'd like.... i talk to much

Well do what makes you happy. You should totally check out last thursday- it's free to set up and and usually people start setting up around 4 pm and you basically just claim an open spot. If it's sunny there is a ton of people but if it's rainy then there wont be a lot of people.
