Thank you for the fav, I see you like herons a lot! Me too. The green one you favorited was born on our farm in a stand of trees by our pond. The parents have been here for over 14 years, making new green herons every year. 3 or 4 per year.

hey. I just started seriously birding last October. I see a lot of Grey Herons and Striated Herons and I super like them. They're so cute.
You're so lucky to have herons on your property. They're lovely birds.

I bird watch on our arm. We have 22.6 acres and have set most of it aside for wildlife. I used to get lots of them at our feeders, but since they prefer their natural food, they only really come around a lot when it is very cold and there is a lot of snow (now!) So far I have seen over 90 different species on our farm, that's a lot and most o them are migratory so they don't stick around. I am so glad the herons found our pond and that they teach their kids how to fish safely. No one ever comes back here so they are secure and we love them.

yeah. I'm from Singapore. Lived here most of my life, except for between 2004 to 2008 when I was in Australia for studies.

Yeah. Singapore used to be part of Malaysia. After WW2 and all that, both Singapore and Malaysia wanted to be independent from the British, who were the colonial masters. The British didn't think that Singapore or Malaysia would be okay being on their own, thus said that they had to join in order to gain independence. Whatever it was, there was drama between the two countries and Singapore separated from Malaysia on the 9th of August 1965.
