YES, Aussie and James WERE amazing! I loved them! My name's Dakota, but everybody called me Kody (Ima girl). Yeah, my plan is to do all the L's in a row, but I will only be 16 and I'm not even sure I can be a CV then, but I don't know if I could live without Tanglewood to look forward to every summer!
And EEEE, I think this is really cool, too!

Yeah, our whole group has been really close with Aussie since we made her an honorary L2 last year, and she was our cabin counselor this year because we had a bunch of weirdness in terms of leaders because ours changed halfway through. And then James is just fabulous in so many ways. (He's also extraordinarily sexy

Oh, okay, makes sense. He is; we actually met there, and our first kiss (after much pressuring by Aussie) was there, and dah, much joy. Well, being from RI means that my home-friends and my Maine-friends are two different groups, so they're all friends that I made there.

We're terrible to be around, or so I hear. (She's wonderfulwonderfulwonderful.) We do a few things together throughout the year and our goal is to see each other once a month; it's pretty much working so far (and I get to see him in four days!)

Yeah, I can imagine so; she mentioned it a few times. I'm really sad that she probably won't be there next year :c because staff training with her would be AWESOME.

Let's see. It rained EVERY SINGLE DAY of our trip, which made for general insanity, so it's harder to say what to pack. Definitely have good hiking boots and decent water shoes; both are very useful and will save your feet so much pain. And bring cards and other entertaining things and otherwise pretty much follow the packing list. If there's something you don't have that turns out to be really necessary, you can usually borrow it from the camp or someone else. In terms of other advice, FOLLOW YOUR FUCKING MAP (we screwed up a lot) and don't let your group split into smaller groups, and make sure everyone gets along - our L1 group was terrible because we were split into two factions that hated each other, but most of the same people were in L2 and we got over it and it was probably the best three weeks of my life and they're all some of my favorite people ever now. Also, bring campsuds or something along those lines because washing a little on trip makes you feel just a tiny bit better and it's worth it. And bring something pretty to wear after you get back because it feels so nice to be clean c:

Staff training with her WOULD be a BLAST!
It sucks that it rained everyday! In L1 I learned to get water shoes that actually fit so they don't threaten to go down the river! I just really like being prepared (but at camp it's almost impossible!) so thanx for the lengthy advice, much appreciated! How many times did you wear stuff on trip, I mean like how much did you pack?
Srry, feel kinda nosy and annoying, but just like you said, camp is the best weeks of the year to me!

Though I'm sure it will be totally bitchin' anyway; I've heard nothing but good things about it.
It was the rainiest July since like fifty years ago up there. Parts of our trip were actually made impossible by the rivers rising like a foot. Yeah, that's probably a good idea. Being prepared is awesome! I tend to overpack SO MUCH, to the point where I brought two petticoats this year. And wore both. On trip, I wore the same leggings every day and switched between two shirts. And had some layers. Layers are AMAZING. (Actually, we capsized, and I'd used my drybag for my books, so all of my clothes and crap got soaked, so I ended up wearing Leia's (Leia being one of our leaders) extra leggings and one of my shirts that dried. And I hung out all of my clothes on a tree but then it poured that night so they didn't exactly dry. I was going to link to a picture of the tree with them on it but I can't find it now :C)
It's fine, I like feeling useful!
