because my camera sucks. have you seen the photos in my gallery? those were taken on a dsi. not very good quality.

You mean the photos of your drawings? I think those are fine. You just need to edit them a bit. Use Photoshop or GIMP (first is awesome, latter is free) and adjust contrast/brightness.

my mom has one of the newer versions of photoshop. it is really nice

What one? I use CS4. You can edit the photos by going to image>adjustments>brightness/contrast
Just play around with it a bit, you'll see it gets better.
Alternatively, you could look up a tutorial.

I actually used scrapbook paper. its good for making large uncomplicated models. best part is its way less expensive than regular origami paper. ive even figured out how to make some of the textured papers almost as strong as leather. i have a couple wallets i made.

That's really cool! I've seen wallets folded from two layers of fabric with aluminum foil between them, that's pretty cool, too.
