We had the worst ice storm in 45 years. Then a snow storm right after and now another ice storm. We are trapped in our home until it melts. Our contractor went $38,000 over our budget. But thankfully we topped last January's sales just after Christmas and we still have a month to go. Much needed to recoup our storm damage and contractor. A lot of people are glad to see 2016 go but I don't think it's over just yet. The first storm was extremely dangerous so being alive is a good thing. How about you?

That sounds awful! I'm sorry. But I'm glad you are alive, too. As for me, there been nothing nearly as exciting/dangerous, just a bit of snow and ice, which was cleared off the streets fairly quickly. I hope you are un-trapped quickly, and that the recuperation goes hastily as well.

Finally we are able to get out for the first time in four days. It's 19 degrees but the street ice is gone from our hill. No snow or rain so far so that's good.

Alas! I don't remember what free time is - school is all-devouring, as far as time goes. But occasionally I take pictures; perhaps I will begin posting some of those. But I am glad to hear that your load has lightened somewhat!

Or perhaps that's something you and I have in common. We took our new kitchen for a test run on my birthday and cooked most of the Thanksgiving meal ahead so we could reheat and relax on the holiday. Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours. We have guests coming in for the next month so today I'll plan for that and get it done. Then maybe some rendering. Hope all is well with you.

I guess it was okay.  No gifts to buy, no gifts given to me.  Drove one scooter rider to a skate park about 30 miles away.  Brought back two others with him by coincidence.  Could have been bad, i guess.  I was freezing and it was over 50 degrees F.

Do what you must.  Feel what you can.    Being here, I'm shocked at how school works--or doesn't.  I spent part of my birthday with one of the local scooter riders, who didn't make it to school.  His mum woke him when she called the home phone and she said that it was okay that he would stay home.  I messaged him after 6 a.m. this morning about a part he needed that someone else was supposed to supply but apparently lost.  He later told me that he was going to go back to sleep.  I didn't say exactly what i felt.  Grrrr.

I hope that things will be better for you.

I've been so-so, a bit sick with my heart malfunction and the head, but whatever.  I finally got my California license plates and I have an appointment Monday morning for my driver's license.  Progress is a good thing, even when it is slow.  I kind of expected to die on my birthday because of how my heart has been lately, but I wasn't so lucky. 

Is it weird that I feel like calling you some time?  I don't know why, but I feel closer to you than I actually am.  Try to have a good weekend!
