Well, there's a scene where Maria breaks his music box in a moment of rebellion, which she regrets the instance the trinket leaves her hand.
But of course, her actions provoke the wrath of Captain Jones. He snatches hold of her neck with his right hand, wrapping the tentacle finger around her neck. Maria panics and begins to protest, but Davy Jones needs to silence her. He stifles her by pulling her closer and wrapping as many tentacles as possible around her neck.
But I was wondering, do you think they would reach all the way around or be able to get a grip enough to strangle her that way? I know what he does to Mercer in AWE, but the tentacles don't wrap completely around his neck, they just hold him at the back.
Maria is 15 and her frame will be smaller. Do you think it's possible?

Jones would be 6'2 (as that is Bill Nighy's height). So if his tentacles reach his abdomen, belly button length as is seen in this picture...goo.gl/images/rFtsu1
I would assume the longest tentacles would be approximately 2 feet, give or take a couple of inches. So I think it's safe to say they would make it around Maria's small frame

I've been wanting to share my story with you. Not that I'd expect you to read anything, I know how busy you are.
But I wanted to know if I could just tell you about it. I really think it's unique amongst Flying Dutchman fanfictions. Would it be okay if I told you some things that happen?

Well, the story is about the sea being in danger of changing forever. The stars are going out and since the stars belong to the sea, the delicate balance is being disrupted.
The story centres around Maria Morgan from the ages of 11 to 18 from the story's start to the story's finish. But from Davy Jones' perspective, he's forced to pressgang a teenager into his crew because she is instrumental in preventing the sea's apocalypse.
Things start of very bad, Maria has meltdowns that she can't control. The crew know something is wrong with the 'boy'. But gradually it's discovered that as difficult as she is to discipline, Maria is gifted.
A rapport between the captain and the unusual child grows, until Maria asks Davy Jones "who is Calypso?"

Should I carry on writing this story? Or should I stop?
It's taken up a huge part of my imagination for so many years (since 2006) and there's hardly been a day when it's not been on my mind. It's a massive part of my life. The emotions, the concepts, the pictures in my head, I want other people to see this.
But I don't think anyone will read it, or even look at it if I was to put it online somewhere or give it to someone. I'm not sure if I should spare myself the effort and pain and just quit. I mean let's face it, Pirates of the Caribbean isn't exactly what it used to be.
I'd love for my story to reach an audience and be appreciated, but something tells me it'll never happen.

Well, if it's something you love that much, you should continue. Even if its something you keep you yourself. I have a Jones storyline that I've never shared. It's my secret passion. I still get readers on fanfiction.net. They are few and far between, but it's nice to hear from readers. I recommend the site. People can specifically look for fandoms. And who knows, if POTC 6 ever comes into existence, there could be a resurgence, especially if Jones returns.
