'Iya. I was just wondering whether you know how bristol board takes water. I want to use it for my next final piece but I'm so scared of ruining the paper.

it does not. at all. do not apply water to it D:
its coated paper and water will make a horrible mess. if you want super smooth paper i'd try hotpress fabriano. errrrr 300 gsm isnt bad.

Also I couldn't find the ask thing on your blogs but just wanted to say thank you so much for the Tumblr follow! You are actually my 200th follower so I'd like to celebrate this mild achievement by doing an illustration/painting of your choosing! You don't have to of course but would be coool Thanks again!

i think it's there... somewhere. probably hiding behind something else thinking its all clever.
i'm a) really new to the whole tumblr thing, and b) changed it all around yesterday so actually i have no idea if it is
oooo i'm going to have to think about that, D: maybe some kind of stag?
π: 0 β©: 1
YetiSalad In reply to clockwerkjos [2013-07-20 12:59:34 +0000 UTC]
Haha yhh tricky little buggers those ask boxes. No worries though Definitely worth having a Tumblr in my opinion so stick with it! Oooh a stag sounds coool, but yes do have a think (if you don't mind of course), thank you again!

it still confuses me a bit, but people seem to find it somehow so hey, i'm happy ^^
i think a stag, but in what ever style you feel would suit it..

Indeeed it's all good, I discovered you through the graphic novel tag I've been checking every now and then (I so desperately wanna make one!) but yeh, it was love at first sight, such a brilliant style. Alrighty! A stag it shall beee, thank you

clockwerkjos In reply to YetiSalad [2013-07-22 11:22:14 +0000 UTC]
you should make one! hard work but rewarding, and you're style of illustration would go down well i think. do you know of nobrow publishing? their work is pretty cool
oh and that stag is aweesome! D:

YetiSalad In reply to clockwerkjos [2013-07-23 11:56:41 +0000 UTC]
Aah that's a huge compliment thank you so much! Are you gonna publish your comic with them when it's done?
Ooh I haven't got a solid idea yet just bits of story I'd like to include and a list of names I like the sound and meaning of, just working on a couple of commissions at the moment so haven't had time to think about it properly. Want it to be quite a surreal thing though, and darkish (maybe a dystopia thing but that's been done quite a lot now) but yh I'm gonna kill off main characters and stuff and try and have twists and shocks, wanna focus on the story as much as the drawings. Expecting quite a lot of myself really haha, but hopefully it comes out weell! How's yours going?Β

clockwerkjos In reply to YetiSalad [2013-07-30 08:57:05 +0000 UTC]
nobrow are too indie for my work, they like less standard narratives and art styles.
you should maybe consider doingΒ a super awesome nonlinear narrative and mix up art styles and stuff.
you could do dystopian society from a different point of view? or rather a different era's point of view. like, you know how we thought the year 2000 would be in the 60s, well, what would normans have thoughts the future was like (bad example cos they genuinely believed in dragons)

YetiSalad In reply to clockwerkjos [2013-07-30 15:15:00 +0000 UTC]
yhh they don't really seem into fantasy type stuff. aah they're good ideas but I just don't knooow, I have characters and scenes in my head, it's just figuring out the bigger picture and where to start it :') So much to think about! The last 'proper' comic I made was when I was 11 haha
