hey don't under appreciate your self your work is superb . Just because its not a malty million dollar book/ short story/ art doesn't mean its not good, and who knows maybe your work is inspiration for people, maybe seeing you having the courage to post your work, (even if you don't think its amazing)gives them the courage to post theirs.

Yeah, comes practice comes perfection, I know. Still, with creativity it's a bit of an oddity. I mean sure, once your name is well known, people will buy whatever you're selling, but not because it's 'great', but because you made it. You're not selling your works, you're selling your name...kinda sad, but true.

But I'll keep on trying, no matter what.

Nah, it's just about decent. What makes it special however, and I'm completely with you there, is that I have the courage to both post it here for the public eye to see as well as the will to improve and to listen to what others have to say.
And I even dare say, that I've gotten a little better thanks to that, even if only just a little.

Regarding that inspiration thing...one of my mottos (I've got a few is): If my work helps/entertains/serves even just one person, it's already been worth the effort
And thus I'll continue writing (next chapter of Tisis should become available tomorrow ), in the hope of becoming better as both a writer as well as a person

And no worries, just look at me, I'm ranting in many of my comments

Hey, the tricky part isn't getting something started, it's sticking to it and seeing it through to the end

Yeah, the first part has been a long time ago. As of late, I'm pressing on the plot points, advancing the story as fast as is reasonable. That'll shorten the story a good deal and I mean some 100 chapters really is long enough for a story, isn't it?

And after that, I'll continue AZ...hopefully I'll be able to pick up on that one as well

Good luck with finding that time, it has been known to be rather elusive as of late

yea i know what you mean i have been working on the same story for the longest while and i just cant continue because of my lack of information. (silly me i decided to make my story take place in a time and lace that actually exists. italy 1932-1951) and i just cant seam to find any decent info.

well as long as a story keeps people entertained the length of a story dose not matter. But yea.

The question you need to ask yourself is: Do you need to be historically accurate? Because if I had wanted that to happen, I couldn't have written the Demilympics like they've been. Real time, real places, but completely made up events.

For example: The Olympic Games in Beijing did happen. What didn't happen is that the protagonists took part in it.

Yeah, but the longer a story goes, the harder it is to keep people from getting bored. Another little example: The world is in peril. Okay, interesting for the first time. The hero rises and vanquishes the evil that threatens the world. Entertaining, to be sure. Works every time. But to have it happen once every 100 pages as a recurring theme...that's just a load of bull. Even the best idea needs to be used carefully. Otherwise you'll end up killing your story off.

I'm not sure you will, but I still hope for the best

yes but it most storys they dont use the same theme over and over again its more then one problem or one big problem with smaller problems intertwined.

Depends on the setting. If you're using a regular person, a likeness would be a good approach. However if you're using a time traveler, 'out of place' clothes are about a 'must'
Though, to be perfectly honest, I don't think anyone who actually knows (cause he's been there) the clothes from back then will read your story. And even if they do, I doubt they'd wonder about the clothes.

Furthermore it's a good 'trick' to simply be sketchy about the details. That way the reader can imagine what the people look like all the better. The more details you give, the less you leave to imagination.

Yeah, that's how it usually is. However take the Dragonball Series for example. One threat averted, the next one is knocking at the door, even more powerful and dangerous than the one before. Or Bleach. Or Naruto. Or whatever else long-running series you want to look at. After a while, it simply gets boring.

It's 'Tisis', actually. But sure. I'm currently trying to push it towards the home stretch (lack of feedback and the story has been going on for way too long already anyway), but I'm, as usual, always interested in what people have to say about the story. Also, you know me. If someone suggests something good for the story, I tend to find a way to make it happen
