i havent played STALKER in a while, actually. i tried installing my copy of Clear Sky the other day, and it said that my OS wasn't recognized. pretty lame, but oh well. I have been playing that Alien Swarm game on Steam lately, though. its a lot of fun.

oh yeah. that kind of dedication can really change a man. and put that on top of the mastermind that he is, something amazing was sure to come from it. the DTP is one of my favorite ideas in music. it really seems like a work of art rather than simply well thought out musicianship.

I find it to be a combo of art and musicianship. I haven't heard Ki yet but want to get a hold of it.. lately my craze has been in fusion genres but I have a very progressive ever-changing musical ear.

Ki is good, but i find Addicted to be far better. which is slightly strange, because i typically find female vocals in any kind of metal just terrible and cheesy. he really pulled it off, though.

The Gathering is in my top 10 so when I heard Anneke was collaborating I was excited. Though I think she could have been used a lot more. I'm getting picky with female leads in metal because now a lot of Paramore/Flyleaf sound-a-likes are coming out and it's annoying.

yeah. its not all that for me, though. its just that female vocals always just seem cheesy and cheap. you know? it seems like its always the bands that are trying way to hard to have everyone like them have female vocals because they think it sounds "edgy" or some shit like that. idk, maybe im being bias, but to me, male vocals are just better in metal.

i have honestly never listened to The Gathering. i would ask if they are any good, but if they are in your top 10, they must be. lol.

The Gathering is a very unique band with each album bringing something different. Earlier stuff (Mandylion, Nighttime Birds) is more rock/metal and more recently, before Anneke's departure, the music is more experimental rock without losing too much of what they're known for.

I do say that female leads have it tough in the metal genres. I'm very very particular about female vocals in my metal, especially singers. Some good artists to check out (these aren't all specifically metal) are Paatos, Arch Enemy, After Forever, Aghora, Lacuna Coil (Comalies and earlier), Aesma Daeva, Elis.

Arch Enemy is good, and i dont particularly care for Lacuna Coil. their style just isnt my thing. i havent heard of any of the other bands.
