The only thing I can kind of remember that was like that was when Worf's human brother was saving people from some crappy planet, and Picard was all butthurt that it was in violation of the prime directive. Ooooh yeah, okay. The reason I couldn't remember it is because I really hate seasons one and two and avoid rewatching them at all costs (with very few exceptions). Well actually no, sometimes Otter and I will watch them just to make fun of them, haha.
Picard is such a dick. Captain Kirk could blatantly violate the Prime Directive for BAD reasons, yet Picard can't make exceptions for good reasons. And I don't get why he finally DID make an exception in that case, and then threw a bitch fit when Worf did it in season 7. I guess he was having borg PMS that day.

Kirk is definitely the chillest, but so is Sisko. He's like Kirk in a lot of ways - actually knows how to be a military leader. DS9 as a whole shows a LOT of respect for TOS in the whole way it's handled. Haha can you tell I love DS9? <3

Well if you were gonna watch it for that reason, you should just watch Quantum Leap. It's cheesy, but it's a pretty good show. And lol, I guess you're right about Voyager. Voyager just feels so... cartoony to me, if that makes sense. It's annoying. I tried really, really hard to watch both of them all the way through, and I got further with Voyager, so lol. But Voyager had a Nazi episode too, lmao. Only TOS is allowed to do it.
Yeah, the Cardassians are bad ass in DS9! Yeah, DS9 is a lot more serious and badass, and at least it tried to have a sense of realism in a genre where you have to constantly suspend disbelief. I think it dealt with a variety of different themes and issues very, very well. That's why it was always so disappointing when they had a dumb ass Vic Fontaine episode or something, lol. If you saw my post on picardinthenexus about the episode "Take me out to the Holosuite" then you'll know how I feel about those crappy episodes. I used to post those comics on my myspace blog, and I would get awesome comments like, "I'd rather watch your episode than the real piece of crap" haha.

Well if you ever have the opportunity, I'd recommend watching DS9 from beginning to end, even if getting through the first couple of seasons can feel like a struggle at times, haha. To me it's still worth it because you really get a sense of how much the characters have grown by the end (unfortunately, I see none of that in TNG).
Lol, I remember that TNG episode. It was another horrible season 2 episode if I remember correctly. And haha, tell me what you think of the DS9 post. It's very disjointed as it was just a back and forth thing, but lol.

Well... yeah. I just liked that he decided he didn't want to do it, despite knowing it would disappoint everyone. It's not like he made the decision to join Starfleet and then gave up because it was too tough - he never had the choice to begin with. I think that's better than just having him being the straight A perfect Starfleet nerd the entire run because he was born into it. And I have seriously wondered what the motivation is to join/stay in Starfleet anyway, when they supposedly have no economic system, lol (which you obviously know from the timeline was just bullshit made up by Picard anyway, haha).

LOL, are you talking about the Sarek episode? Pretty much everything in that was hilarious. Especially the fight Wesley and Geordi got in, lmao. Oh, I also thought it was so funny when the camera zoomed in on Sarek crying at the concert. It was just... yet another example of TNG having NO subtlety, like its audience was a bunch of idiots who needed everything spelled out for them (and not surprisingly, that IS exactly what the TNG crowd is like). Fucking awful.
