/despite what many modern tales will tell you, the world Jack calls home is not the place of dreams and happiness. He's had more than his fair share of encounters with all sorts of bizarre, strange, and downright disturbing or horrifying beings.
"Want me to have a look-see while you stay here...?"

/Already Jack was trying to come up with solutions. Permanent ones, of possible. This might be a spirit or demon of some kind if its first instinct was to terrorize the poor girl..
/Jack went over to the window to see if he could tell right away what they were dealing with. If it was something unique and easy to identify it would help, though if it was one of various human-like entities or in disguise he would have to guess weaknesses from more context clues..
"Hey- yeah you. Mind just going away and never coming back?"

/He doesn't hesitate to go to the door it reappeared at-- and now he was being decisively annoying, moving around in what looks like random motions to Annabel Lee, but in reality he was blocking the creature's view of the girl as much as possible.
"Go get salt! Silver or iron if you have it!"
/Those substances were particularly nasty against evil apparitions - iron itself even Jack couldn't touch.
"I'm going to give you two minutes to say bye-bye, or I'm comin' out there!"

"Let's just say I don't like the idea of an innocent being harmed for personal gain. And you just shortened that warning to thirty seconds! Annabel Lee, whatever you do, don't pay any mind to this thing..."
/Jack took the salt, soon rushing the girl out from the visible open, browsing the new home room by room until he found one without any windows. Incidentally, the bathroom...
/He went to work quickly sprinkling a thin line in front of the doorway, and just to be safe, around any vents and drains-
/A brief double-check, and he soon turns to the half-human
"Look me in the eye, Annabel. Whatever happens, whatever that thing says or does, you focus on getting away. Far away. There is no boundary it won't try to cross and no amount of lies will be enough if it thinks it can use them to draw you out."
/he takes the earrings-- bending them mostly straight like little pins before giving them back
"Not the best weapons but better than nothing. I'll be back in a bit, okay?"
/he grabs the last of the salt, pouring a bit..in her pocket???? Then the rest in his mouth??????
/And he leaves the bathroom, careful not to disturb the salt line he left as a barrier

/Jack would remind her to ignore the monster if his mouth wasn't full of salt..just going to have to make this quick then.
/When it's not around the kitchen he crawls out through the window before shutting it quickly. Keeping a fast and careful eye out.
/He makes his way around the house opposite of where he last saw it pass, waiting for it to come by the corner, and...
