Thanks a lot! I do rough idea sketches and then head to the hardware and craft stores to see what I can find to build them: PVC pipe, rubber tubing, wire, holiday ornaments. Lots of trial-and-error. Then a lot of glue and paint to finish them off.

Most my work is done by hand with small files, sandpaper, saws, X-acto knives, pliers, and drills (pin-vises). I use a Dremel tool sometimes to carve curved shapes in plastic pieces. I use automotive acrylic spray paint, which I spray outdoors, artist acrylics, and Tamiya model paints. It would be much easier, and faster, if I had a drill-press, an electric saw, and a large vise, but I'll have to wait a while for that.
