I saw you stopped by. How goes everything? I'm bouncing off the walls a bit, improving though.

It's going okay. Just finished up my 1925 map of Europe. Will be posting it tonight. I'll be starting on the 1939 map of Europe tonight or tomorrow.Β
I saw a status update from you about taking a vacation from DA in my notifications. But I deleted it too fast to read it all thoroughly. So I stopped by to read it slowly and thoroughly. I hope all is well with you.Β
I suppose I'll see ya when you get back. Take it easy.

I thank you again, Eric. Β What a marvelous and accomplished background you have. Β Carolyn tells me both of you were schoolmates. Β I have been in a bit of a slump with my artwork lately. Β Not too long ago I tried to finish an oil painting of the San Juan Capistrano Mission I started in 1983, but that did not last long. Β It is still sitting on my easel, unfinished. Β I have been reading quite a lot and coloring a few Mandala designs. The book I am reading right now is, The Book of God; The Bible as a Novel, by Walter Wangerin, Jr. I have read most of the Bible's New Testament and it is not too hard to understand. Β I am hoping this book will help me understand the Old Testament better than I do. Β

Thank you. I find your background equally interesting. I often thought of being a flight attendant and considered applying for a position after retiring from the military. I figured speaking fluent German and Arabic would help me. But I didn't want to be gone all the time and really wanted to teach.
Carolyn and I were schoolmates. Sadly, I have lost most of my memories from my youth and so can't remember the specifics of things that happened during that time or the people I was around. It's horrible and I feel like I've lost a part of myself which is one reason I like to reconnect with people from back then. But I'm glad we've reconnected through FB.Β
I completely understand about a slump. I started a drawing for my daughter years ago that is still in my sketchbook and a wood replica of the USS Missouri for my son that is still in the garage.Β
I've seen those coloring books. That looks enjoyable. I've been printing off coloring pages from various museums and archives of famous artwork and historical images for my students to color when they have down time. *Shrug* They seem to enjoy it.
I too have read the New Testament. I don't think I've heard of that book, but it sounds interesting. I've tried to read the Old Testament, but seem to stumble when I get to Leviticus and some of the other books. Some of the books are just more interesting than others. I just try to remember that it's not just a book about God's love but also the history of God's plan in spite of the stupid stuff people do to corrupt His plan.
Good luck on the reading and on the artwork.
