Hello! Well, I must say, your art is fantastic. Although it seems you hear that a lot. Just dropping by your gallery... decided to comment. I must say, my favorites are either your .Divinity Willing. one or the .nobirdssang. one.
I must say, an interesting little one that I found was the .Spicer. one, too. We all get annoyed at people not taking a look at our good stuff, but would you mind changing the tags or something on it so it doesn't pop up under the wrong category?

This whole issue is not such a big deal. although I also left my idea on his jurnal.
BUT, and all in CAPITALS, as an ARTIST, and again all in CAPITALS,
you need to be more OPENMINDED than that.
Keep your own good work and never stop to expand your horizons.

Know whats funny. Everyones telling you, "dont worry about those fanboiz/girlz! Theyre just stoopids!" But from what ive seen, people are actually being mature and open minded about the sitch. Which is lucky for you. Probably because he has an older audience, and we dont really jump at the sound of pointless violence and drama. Now, cut the emo crap and keep making art! Your still in highschool, you've got tons of time to get even better than you are now, and believe me, your good! Just remember, everyones different in what they do. And when it comes to traditional to digital, its a whole different ball game. I cant paint traditionally to save my dogs life from a pack of angry polar bears...But i can do a decent job on photoshop. Just take that in stride. Also, feeling guilty about using references is a personal thing. I used to feel that way, but due to my bad memory, its hard for me to draw directly from my head without a nice little overview of subjects first. Its really personal preference, just take it in stride. As long as the person isnt an art thief, theres nothing wrong. Ok, this got kinda long. But yah, no more emoness! We're the art community! We're supposed to support each other and help each other to get where we want to go!!!

Debating who is a better artist is a wonderful waste of time. You're good, he's good. My work is digital, from photo reference. It's good too.
Just be the artist you are. It's infinitely better than being the lame critic who isn't. A lot of people appreciate you. I'm one.

I took the time to read your journal, and found that I do understand your point of view fully. The only thing you have to remember is the there is too many different types of art in the world to decide what's good or not. Personally, I find fan art ridiculous because it's a pre-made character or object that's just redone in the artist's perspective. I could go on for hours with this subject, but I would rather take a better look at the rest of your gallery for now.
